@Summer Morning! I recall you mentioning that you liked Factorio, so I thought I'd mention that Automachef is currently free on the Epic store. I'm not really familiar w/ either, but they look like they might scratch similar itches & thought maybe the idea of a culinary robot dystopia might appeal to you.

A better example would be Factorio. You get rewarded for good setups, but you can do without the optimal strategy. And even in that game people just look up how to make an optimal 7 to 5 belt condenser because it's just not an interesting problem.

Q: How to make a really high performance like factorio in SDL2?

Han Programeri tried to make a 2D game engine for my game, used SDL2 as framework, C++ as language, and MSVC as compiler, using the graphics api and accelarated renderer. However, this still not enough. The game, at 300 objects. (Object being a simple struct holding position and SDL_Texture, and also SDL_Rect...

yeah, its got some influence from games like anno (production chains, rising pop) and factorio (production chains). But in this game you dont control the population. the game does, and it changes, and their needs change, so you also have to make something that adapts with it, rather than just (x is always better than y)

the name of a game is itself a marketing tool, so it's worth figuring out what kind of players you want to attract. "Tank Engineer" would work fine if you're trying to attract the people who'd play Space Engineers or Factorio or Kerbal Space Program.

that's a problem I have everyday... halfway thru andromeda and my friend forces me to get factorio... now I can't stop playing factorio everyday. don't get me wrong it's fun, but I'd like to finish andromeda too :D

I didn't like that you'd set up all this stuff in Factorio, then the thing you were mining would play out and you had to rejig. Not saying that means it's bad, just that this aspect made it not appeal to me. :(

Yeah like the WoW beta was awesome before the first launch
I bought CrossCode recently due to its beta
People seem to love Factorio (and that has a beta), though its beta confirmed that I didn't really like the game
I played the Destiny beta on PS4 and bought it
played the Battleborn open weekend, thought it was crap
played the recent Doom multiplayer beta, thought it was crap, but I might buy for the singleplayer later when it's on sale
end of the day, just make a fun game :) doesn't really matter maybe

A good alternative to demos, is just simply going DRM-free. I've shared both Factorio and RimWorld with dozens of people and most of them have bought it afterwards.
