@MikeEarnest Now ready for deletion.
Jan 12 23:24
^^^ now closed, but needs some downvotes to be open for deletion (else it may encourage similar rambling blog-like questions).

The community bot just bumped math.stackexchange.com/q/4126083 . It seems be a support question for Wolfram Alpha, and is therefore off-topic here. The answer also doesn't seem to really be an answer. I am going to close it, and would recommend deletion.

A: Requests for Reopen & Undeletion Votes (volume 01/2022 - today)

Will NessPlease undelete this answer (by me) https://math.stackexchange.com/a/5017532/41841 I edited it to include the direct answer to the question. It had the equivalent before the deletion too, but in another syntax. Now it includes the result directly, as asked for by the question, which result is a s...

I recommend deletion: math.stackexchange.com/q/4589859 .
Dec 28, 2024 18:05
math.stackexchange.com/q/3218656 It has been bumped multiple times by the community bot, is self-answered, and I don't think that it has much lasting value. I would recommend closure and deletion.
Dec 21, 2024 01:04
I would say this is up for deletion
Dec 9, 2024 19:47
@user2661923 If a question is not a good question by modern standards, then there is nothing which should stop anyone from voting to close / delete. However, people are also discouraged from seeking out old questions and targeting them for closure or deletion. There are too many new questions which need attention.

@Feeds Open for deletion: two more delete votes needed.

prepare for the deletion of the last three comments, including mine
Oct 17, 2024 19:24
Honestly, you probably did more harm than good (if your goal is to preserve the question) by editing the post. It had been inactive for 11 years. Now that it has been bumped to the front page, it is likely that it will receive additional attention and scrutiny, which could lead to its deletion.

A: How does deleting work? What can cause a post to be deleted, and what does that actually mean? What are the criteria for deletion?

jjnguyHow can a post be deleted? By users: The author can typically delete their own posts at will; for exceptions, see When can't I delete my own post? below. To delete a post, just use the delete link below it, on the left. Diamond moderators (♦) can delete any post instantly. This group includes e...

@Jakobian. no, let me narrow it down. There are only 2 main points. One related to the stated reason for closure/deletion. That one already has a history where there is no consensus among "mod"-users (or whatever the right term is for users with power to make these decisions related to closing/reopening etc).
Sep 9, 2024 14:54
@Srini Posts with positive scores are harder to delete, and may require downvotes before they can be deleted. So if someone has the goal of deleting a post, they may first request downvotes to make deletion possible.
Sep 3, 2024 02:32
@Ѕᴀᴀᴅ These posts still need deletion votes.
Sep 1, 2024 20:52
@BillDubuque The question is available for deletion now: two more votes needed.
Aug 29, 2024 03:04
Deletion, for your consideration: D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6
Aug 28, 2024 01:22
I don't advocate the deletion of C1, but C1 does lack context.
Aug 26, 2024 02:51
For deletion: D1, D2, D3, D4, D5
Aug 14, 2024 21:48
I think that the problem that a lot of people have is that they assume that closure or deletion is a judgement about the quality of a question in an abstract sense---"the question is closed, therefore the community here thinks it is a bad question, period".

@rschwieb available for deletion.
Aug 12, 2024 14:24
@Peter Closed, ready for deletion.
Aug 9, 2024 12:24
@Ѕᴀᴀᴅ Closing this one makes it open to the possibility of deletion. Which should not happen, since it is obviously an interesting question and many people have learned something from it. One should be allowed to ask questions 'outside their weightclass'.

A: Enable automatic deletion of old, unanswered, zero-score questions after a year?

Jeff AtwoodAbandoned, unanswered questions can be a nuisance for readers when they appear in search results. While every question deserves a chance to be answered, at some point the annoyance to those searching for a solution outweighs the increasingly small chance that an answer will be provided. For this ...

@Mittens I will gladly consider posts given after 2020 (there are plenty of low quality posts needing deletion over the course of the last four years. But I will ignore posts made way-back-when.
Aug 2, 2024 16:43
So I suppose the only source of information with which we could handle that decision about deletion is to consider that not always its worth it to delete a question, and that it's an old question indeed shouldn't matter.
Aug 2, 2024 13:20
Please consider the following for deletion: D1, D2, D3, D4
Aug 1, 2024 20:10
@Jakobian It does matter, because policies changed in 2020. And an answer "being incorrect" should motivate comments, but is not itself a justification for deletion. CC: @Xander. Please get a grip on the site: meta, or confer with actual moderators in the mod chat, or

@KReiser That question has been closed, and is now available for deletion.
Jul 15, 2024 18:05
The other wrong answer is, I agree, wrong. But my hands are a little tied. I would recommend deletion of math.stackexchange.com/a/729592 .

@Sahaj Up for deletion

@Peter and others here Open for deletion.
Jul 11, 2024 15:05
strange question but probably no hope for a closure , let alone for a deletion. But I think , it would deserve deletion.
Jul 9, 2024 13:50
@Ѕᴀᴀᴅ Second one up for deletion now.
Jul 9, 2024 09:02
@Ѕᴀᴀᴅ downvote needed for deletion
Jul 5, 2024 00:40
@BillDubuque Up for deletion.
Jul 1, 2024 04:56
@robjohn The deletion was justified. I have no idea why it was undeleted and by whom.
Jun 30, 2024 21:22
I can see why this question was closed, but I think the OP is going in the correct direction. Deletion seems a bit much. With a bit of clean up and focus, it could be a decent question. I was writing a comment on how it could be improved, but the question was deleted.
Jun 26, 2024 20:02
D1, D2 <- two low quality answers in need of deletion (only one delete vote is needed on each).

Q: Request to vote to undelete answer to "How does this L1 regularization derivation follow? (Proof it makes sparse models)"

@XanderHenderson That PSQ is up for deletion now.
May 7, 2024 06:48
Besides, I was busy for the last few days, which ultimately led to this single-time influx of deletion request.
May 7, 2024 06:47
@amWhy Questions from my deletion list are either from directly filtering through newly deletable questions in the last 24 hours that have attracted a significant number of up votes, or previously requested closure for. I wonder what would be a no less objective standard to measure the "pressingness" of deletions.
