@Problematic I don't think the elves think that far ahead. But elf children are annoying, so they trade them in for nicer ones!

> You must figure out why your character is going to keep getting involved in these more dangerous things. If you don’t, the GM is under no obligation to go out of her way to make the game work for you—she’ll be too busy with other players who made characters that have a reason to participate.

Zoë: You sanguine about the kinda reception we're apt to receive on an Alliance ship, Captain?
Mal: Absolutely. What's "sanguine" mean?
Zoë: Sanguine. Hopeful. Plus, point of interest, it also means "bloody".
Mal: Well, that pretty much covers all the options, don't it?

In Fate, tactics is more likely to mean understanding the situation and making good choices to take advantage of the narrative context.

Last night we had a bar fight. Bar fight +4. It provided passive obstacle to doing anything in it (of +4), and attacked everyone each round (at +4). Including itself. The party invoked placed aspects to make the bar fight defeat itself.

Well, I'm just throwing it in the chat here that I'm interested in participating in a Fate game. It doesn't necessarily have to be GM'd by you.

Every time I try to go to other stacks I am disconcerted by the lack of upkeep. RPG.SE has spoiled me...

the reason i'm abandoning the analogy is because analogies fall down at a certain point, and when I say "Fate is like lego" I don't know if that means the same thing to you as it does to me, so I might as well just say what Fate really is

The other template is basically "There's a specific story detail you can declare once per session without spending a Fate point to do it."

Dramatic Hiding: You can use Stealth to hide any time you have something to crouch behind, whether or not it's actually blocking line of sight to the person you're hiding from. While in this position you automatically succeed on Stealth rolls to talk normally without being heard.
Oct 10, 2014 04:28
We Went Over Budget: Once per session you can compel the GM to prevent any monster from directly appearing in the scene.

Thou art summoned, @BESW. Thou art called, @Doppelgreener. Yea, bring forth the FATE gamers to the foot of the Dark Throne, and we shall converse, they and I.

I dun made a Fate blag post on Editing cards. Next comes the programming side: how it works.

@JonathanHobbs Why you're making it, what inspired it, how you arrived at the design specs/goals, how you chose the systems you're using.

(Ultimately, the definition of an "issue" is "something that several characters really care about".)

In this very room, myself and a few other people have run games of Fate Accelerated. The transcripts of those games are booked in this room's Conversations tab. We ran a campaign under the name of The Enchanted Forest - look for the "EF" transcripts near the bottom of the page. You might want to read those.
