@ungestaltbar My favorite is still 'manage_edit-comments_sortable_columns' because of its intuitive hyphenation.

I second kaiser's suggestion.

as I understand it, 8GB+ DDR3, an Ivy Bridge cpu ( preferably i5 but i7 if you've cash to burn ), a 128GB SSD boot drive, some TB storage HDs and the new nvidia kepler GPUs should do you wonderfully
May 16, 2012 15:33
but nvidia drivers are an order of magnitude better, especially where linux/OpenGL are concerned

you don't buy prebuilt if you want cost effectiveness and super speed

Q: A guide to moderating wordpress.stackexchange yourself - close voting

toschoNinefingers posted this incredible useful text over at meta.crypto.stackexchange.com. I’ll just copy it.

@Brady Take a look here, as using a WP_List_Table is always prettier (even in a meta box). You can also look at the wp style guide for table styling.

I am thinking taking PHPDoc as foundation (it's already written and there is plenty of it), build pages for functions (like Codex pages for individual functions) and then add a layer of organizations - build calling hierarchies of functions, families of functions related to specific functionality... this is something Codex could have but won't because it's work and owners don't give a damn to have this :)

A: What can I do when getting "Sorry, we are no longer accepting questions/answers from this account"?

ArjanWhy am I getting this message? As stated clearly in the about links on every page, the Stack Exchange web sites are question and answer sites, not help forums. This implies that all posts are expected to have some value for later visitors too. To enforce that, and to prevent help vampires making...

Just so folks are aware, there is a phishing attempt to capture plugin owners login credentials doing the rounds.

wordpress.org/support/topic/warning-phishing-attempt?replies=1

If this has worked on anyone: ie, a plugin owner has been fooled into exposing his/her credentials, the consequences might be a poisoned plugin in the repository.

As a consequence, be a little cautious about new plugin updates: check the changelog, and have a look round the forums.

As far as I'm aware wordpress.org will email plugin owners whenever there are updates to their plugins (after a prominent plug

In “Why Can’t You Have Just One Site?” Jeff wrote about the rationale for creating three sites instead of one, and the process for determining where a question belongs:

Is it really so hard to figure out which community you belong to, and thus, where your question belongs? Ask yourself this:

what is your job title?

which community do you consider yourself a part of?

what are you trying to accomplish?

You can use the same mountain to go downhill really fast on snow — but it’s plainly evident to the participant which culture they consider themselves a part of, “skiers” or “snowboarders”. …

Rick actually is a really nice guy, though hyper and inexperienced as a coder. He on the other hand is a fantastic editor and has created a blog with 10K+ hits per day. I helped him over the phone one time and met his son via Skype. I set my boundaries though.
