and secret hats are fun, but then it leads to people trying to experiment on the exact method that achieved it. the whole SE site is built on knowledge.... we crave it. WE MUST KNOW.

@StephenLeppik ah. Ok, that's less bad. In general, let's try to remember that the things we do in search of hats can create work for other people (e.g. reviewers) or interrupt other activities (e.g. an in-progress answer to a question being closed/edited). I'm not saying don't do stuff; SE should be designing hats to stimulate positive activity. I'm just saying: let's try to be careful. General comment, not aimed at anyone in particular.

@Mithrandir If you delete your account you get a hat. Can you test that?
