Phases one and two were cool, and led me to cheer people on, encourage people, upvote, etc. Phase three stinks.

I honestly have no words...this is like your mechanic telling you he has no tools or your doctor telling you he has no medical supplies. What do you do when the OP of a question needs to go farther than the answer you provide?

PSA: When submitting suggested edits, make your edit summary explain why you made the change. Simply stating what you did such as "removed incorrect sentence" doesn't explain why you did it. Reviewers are aware of the literal diff and can see what's been changed, but the edit summary should also include something like "…from author's comment" or such, explaining why you made the change. Cheers

You disagreeing with the downvotes doesn't make the system corrupted. We judge answers on two factors here - 1. Are they correct - 2. are they well-explained and supported. An answer can be technically correct but unhelpful to others because it's unclear how it works and thus be downvoted.

@jmlumpkin I know I struggled with that aspect when I first started hanging around the Stack Exchange network. Zen is achieved by coming to grips with the fact that you might have supplied the knowledge, but once that's done you release all claims on it. Of course, you still get some preferential shepherd treatment -- you're notified of changes and what not. But it ain't yours any more. The "thank you" for providing it is the rep, that's yours.

Perhaps I shoudn't say, but this site and TexSE were the main attractors. And it was the latter that was shown to me. Not via any googling, those results came & went, but in an in-person chat with a friend working as a genius in a store. We were both baffled with a couple of LaTeX issue and then a colleague joined and opened TeXSE to reveal two fitting solutions for three problems present. That was 'a sell' ;)

Just a friendly reminder that you are free to improve answers. If an answer is 99% of the way there, but missing a bit of detail, feel free to add the detail instead of commenting on the answer or flagging it.

I don't really understand the demand for an M1 chip in an iPad Pro. Then again, I don't really understand the demand for the iPad Pro in the first place.

@bmike A good moment to point out that the concerns raised in dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/358198.358210 are still valid today.

I just wanted to thank those who are reviewing the site and keeping edits, flags and content in tip top shape. Moderating is really nice when we only need to do the moderating when two people have differing opinions and the site is taking care of closes, opens, edits. It's also very nice having several eyes on things since what is borderline to one can be easily fixed / edited into shape by others.

Be sure to upvote good content instead of good people, but if you happen to have votes to spare and wanted to look over some applescript questions (see link after this post) and voted some good posts that are Q and voted good answers - I'm sure this user will get some well deserved reputation and recognition (as will many others helping build automation knowledge)
