I don't really know why, since anyone can look up 1980s superhero comic books online, and that's rarely filtered.

@wizzwizz4 is that supposed to be read as "sex wand"? If not, you might want to rethink the name.

@Hachiko Like you can enter some commands (some text followed by a "/") in text input box.
Jul 10 08:27
@Hachiko if you have a specific problem you're having you want to ask about, you could post on Mathematics, but if you want resources the only place you can ask is here or the mathemathics chat but you can only ask there if you have 20 rep

Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve been experimenting with a simple scoring formula that tries to predict prime numbers. It combines:

the number of composites in the last few numbers,

the gap from the last known prime,

and a small modulo penalty.

It doesn’t always produce primes, but it often does — especially early on — and seems to follow an interesting structure.

I posted the idea here, but it got closed:
https://math.stackexchange.com/q/5082006/1661757

Could anyone check it out and suggest how I might improve or clarify the post? Appreciate any help!

@AlbaSpeer I have arranged the numbers initially in a golden spiral, and then in a logarithmic spiral.

@wizzwizz4 the problem with Godot is that you end up waiting a long time.

What is the point of 50 (things) to be able to add a comment ? this seems reversed. Comments should be available immediately and those who dont play nice get punished. Who designed this ? 50 of anything is not explained and is a major deterant to anyone who may want to add to the community. This is a CULT it appears.

sqrt(a/(b+c))+sqrt(b/(a+c))+sqrt(c/(a+b))>=3/sqrt(2) can anyone prove that
Jun 9 20:34
@MichelleLesher No it's not. I suspect someone's trying to scam you.

Mostly because people just ask things with absolutely no context, providing none of the necessary information for anyone to be able to answer. So you need to drag the details out of them which is laborious and time consuming. At the end, in the best case scenario, one person got an answer which helps nobody else and deprives a potentially useful question from one of the sites where it could have helped others.

@SourKraut just a heads up by the way, you can reply to specific messages to make it more clear what you're responding to.

@theB don’t worry, these questions are how you learn. They just seem silly because we're experienced (to varying degrees) and you’re new.
Jul 8 17:01
@theB yes, but you don’t get rep for it.
Jul 8 17:00
@theB Anyone can look at a post, say "Gosh, there are some typos what need fixing," and edit the post to fix those typos. If a user lacks sufficient XP, those edits need to be reviewed, first. If the reviewers agree that the edits are good, the editor earns 2 XP per edit.

@SourKraut Based on your name, I thought you were a disappointed German :P
Jul 8 16:18
@SourKraut why'd you ping yourself?
Jun 26 15:08
@Anonymous your first step would be to confirm those books exist. Your second step would be to read them, and cite them properly. You don't cite entire books as references. Your third step would be to check how a bunch of 'introductory' books can be used to contribute something entirely novel to mathematics, because that's very doubtful

@aesha pick a site you like, go there way too many times in a day, get addicted to chat, and use meta too much. Then get depressed when your site starts to die and there’s nothing new.

@terdon for the record, the child would still experience second hand smoke even if you smoke outside. I think it was specifically included in the results of one study or another but I'm too lazy to go hunting for it.
