I personally thought your answer had more value in it than mine, which was quite a glib summary (I was busy and harassed so didn't put a huge amount into it)
I remember some time ago there was some huge problem regarding some question that had something to do with a boat, and I think I missed that topic completely. As I see it being mentioned every now and then, I'd just like to know what it was about.
well, I for one, am proud to be american, knowing that we are a nation that can waste huge amounts of time and resources watching stupid, but beautiful, stuff like silhouette dancing.

@RoryAlsop it shouldn't be a dichotomy at all. The bounds to your system's requirements are "must be accessible to the customers", and you can do whatever you want within those bounds.

@Gilles In my world, the people protecting physical access to "the warehouse" are an entirely separate organization (different company for that matter) than the people protecting the datacenter.
@ScottPack Ok, you don't, but surely surveillance of a datacenter is already on-topic here. So why not accept surveillance of other kinds of buildings?
