well, I for one, am proud to be american, knowing that we are a nation that can waste huge amounts of time and resources watching stupid, but beautiful, stuff like silhouette dancing.
For instance, if it was true in GF(2^n) for some n >= 2, it would mean that GF(2^n) can be defined modulo an irreducible polynomial P of degree n, such that X^5+X^4+X^2+X and X^5+X^3+X are equal modulo P (polynomials with coefficients in GF(2))
You may have seen the story of the iPhone which was dropped from 13,000 feet by a skydiver - it survived.
This made me wonder how to work out the terminal velocity for something like that. Obviously calculating terminal velocity for a sphere can be relatively straightforward, but with a flattene...
@thisjosh If you're talking about in chat, it only happens when that person posts enough consecutive lines to have room for a larger gravatar and their username and their rep.

Well, in his little sandbox he is good. The problem is that he just refuses to accept that there's a world outside, and it seems like his mission is to pat us on the head, tell us how cute it is that we haven't figured out the truth, and build schools until we convert :)
