@PremRamman It seems like you're doing well learning about photography. Consider keeping a list of topics you cover so that when you get a chance to get out with a camera, you can practice what you've learned. It's easy to binge on all this info, then forget it all because of disuse.
All that being said, @xiota, I agree that we could start posting critique right away to test out that portion of things on the main site. I also think there are far more people on this site than the vocal minority who would shoot it down...but, I could be wrong. Maybe I'll have to go start a critique question and see how it goes?
Look at the amount of reputation in general that's been given out all in service of understanding wha RAW is, or about JPEG compression. There's nothing wrong with that, but is that really more valuable than being able to help someone actually make better photographs?
@iBug atleast the contest sized version is. Some are set to be links to higher quality versions. These higher quality versions are not necessarily licensed, but the small version submitted to the contest must be CC-BY-SA

I think its best if we refrain from calling new users rude. We know how SE works on an intimate level, but most of our new users do not. There is certainly a better approach to solving poor wording than claiming someone is being rude, when the chances that the guy was quite honestly just looking for some information.
If someone who is a photographer has a question about how to use the video features of their fancy new DSLR, I don't think we should be turning them away. If someone has a question about how to focus while recording video with their fancy new DSLR, I don't think we should turn them away.

@b_jonas Chiming in on the authorship of photo contest submissions issue... 100% do not want it to just become a reposting of "cool photos I found on Wikimedia/Flickr/500px" that are CC-BY-SA licensed. The discriminator should be "look what I created" vs. "look what I found".
@AJHenderson The text says “showcase your best quality work, demonstrating at least moderate skill with a camera and a general understanding of the artistic aspects of photography” and later “Showcase your best work” again. I'd like to interpret it in a way that you have to had taken it the photo at least participated in producing the photo in some other way, if it's a photo with multiple people contributing.
@EvanKrall Yeah... I'm pretty sure you're gonna want to log that with mint.com as a bug... Everybody knows that it's impossible to spend too much money on photography...
BUT... none of that is to discount the value that you also bring to the community here. Like I said back a while... It may just be a 'relax a little, ask good questions, create good answers' solution to the perception 'problem' that you may have.
I just hope we don't become the SO of photography...a bunch of superior, arrogant dicks who can't accommodate those endowed with less intelligence, logical prowess, or grammatical capability.
