Not a bar, but plays one on TV

I'm not a place to unwind after work, but I play one on TV.

Recently it's been a room that's more-or-less full time discussion about MLP (and sometimes tangentially related topics), which is fine and something I love us having a space for, but it probably undermines its availability as an overflow room to shift into for serious topics. It also undermines its availability as an overflow room to move messages into, so as to shift the whole conversation, if it's highly likely those messages get interleaved into existing conversations.

yeah, making the NAB a default-join room is a risky click and that's not the fault of the room for being what it is.

C seems pretty common when laws are involved. I mean, if commoners were made able to actually understand laws wording... there would no need for advocates :P

Although with recent continuity reboots, who knows what's going on.

I am confused, can't wrap my mind around it. Some element seem to point to a tale about a box, the interpretation I don't like and the one the Simpsons parody seems to use. On the other side, I see also elements of a "Old enough to read fairy tales again"..

If a game is trying to represent "reality," it's still gotta filter through the creator's understanding of reality--and then through their sense of what is important to represent, and how. Not even physics is an accurate representation of reality, how much less a game.

So, the thing I am saying is that the options a game presents, how it presents them, and the possibilities and outcomes you're likely to see (or less likely to see), fundamentally define that game as separate from other games which present different options different ways and provide different ranges of possibilities or outcomes.

As much as we like new users and welcome questions, making new users happy is secondary to having quality questions. This means that discouraging people from making suggestions to improve questions--rather than encouraging people to learn how to make those suggestions more welcome--is antithetical to the hard-learned lessons of the Stack.

Have you tried casting your ballot in something stouter? Cast your vote in bronze. It carries a lot of weight and resists corrosion corruption

But I'm equally sick of trying to have a conversation where every time I'm confused by something and use the basic communication technique of re-stating in my own words what I think is being said, I get accusations of devious insincerity, so whatever.

Also, can we please stop acting like pointing out a logical fallacy is a substitute for engaging in a conversation? Assume folks are trying to have a reasonable conversation and if they say something which seems weird or nonsensical to us that means there was a communications breakdown.

Similarly, The Hu have just released a Deluxe Edition of their album from last year, The Gereg. The extra tracks are a few acoustic versions, and a few versions with American vocalists added. I was annoyed until I realised that I only like one of the new versions (and don't care about acoustic versions). So I just bought that one track.

We maintain a diverse community here. That includes users who may be unaware of other groups' norms or language. So occasionally someone will say something that offends someone else, usually out of ignorance and not intending harm. But we also assume good faith, so the user isn't banned or shunned. Instead another user corrects them. Then they learn and move on. There are plenty of active users here, including myself, in this category.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. What I mean is that Scar - or Hercules's Hades if you prefer - seems to be portrayed as an "evil character" from the start. He wants powers for himself, isn't afraid to kill relatives to gain that power and once he obtained it... he uses it just for himself and the gain of his followers / subordinates. Disney clearly didn't plan to give the story a "this is told from the winner point of view" or "this is Mufasa version of the tale".
You can say that you can see the story as "told from the winner perspective" anyway, but at that point... many tales can be
