It's kind of heartbreaking seeing so many D&D questions that exist because a player being awesome at something broke the game. (Like "the paladin in my game is actually strong and tough" or "the player who can spot things is too good at spotting things" or "the person who can handle animals fixes too many things via handling animals, how do i nerf it")

@KorvinStarmast Let's break it down, then. You say that rules aren't need for roleplay, and that's true, obviously and demonstrably! But you then infer that wanting rules is the same as needing them, and say needing rules to roleplay is "a problem." I dunno how else to take it but that preferring a game to provide structure for my roleplaying is a problem.

That, or a very well-designed ventilation shaft for an underground lair, disguised as a badly designed storm drain.

@godskook In case it's unclear, I found the conversation inappropriate because it involved denigrating language about another site user personally. That's entirely against Be Nice. You may go ahead and hash out issues with behaviour or posts, but once they cross that boundary into denigrating the qualities of the individual themselves that's something we cannot accept.

@KorvinStarmast And for the elephant in the room: I'll disclose first that I was on vacation when that-all went down and was a little unplugged. But even before that I'd noticed you seemed to be dropping more grumbly/crusty/pokey/edged/barbed comments in some places. Frankly, as if you were a little disgruntled.
