12:28 AM
@random Our long, national nightmare is over. Our great TV is a TV of laws and not of men.

1:00 AM
Just like normal Aussie TV from the sounds of it. Showing the Halloween and Christmas episodes in February

12 hours later…
12:53 PM
@Shog9 Is there any update on the great meta move (MSO -> MSE)

@random it's possible they still let Dark Horse do the comics (I assume that license agreement would still be valid until it expires)

5 hours later…
5:56 PM

@Aarthi Is this something you have to like sitcoms to get?

yo this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down....

@Aarthi Does this relate to the IRS taking all your money?

6:21 PM
rofl nooo

user2334
Yo homes, smell ya later

user2334
True Facts: I always thought it took place in Maryland

6:40 PM
@MarkTrapp now that I think about it I thought the same thing

user2334
In syndication they showed a shortened version of the intro that cut right after his mother says to move to Bel Air and comes back just as he's getting out of the cab, thus deleting the necessary expository elements that clearly establish it being in California

@MarkTrapp my guess is that is also my experience
for reference:

@freiheit that really does make way more sense now. But to a kid who grew up in the fairly rural Eastern shore of MD, a fancy town in western Maryland makes about as much sense as LA :P

@waxeagle But the super-fancy neighborhood that looks over Beverly Hills ...

6:49 PM
@freiheit Western MD is hill country, and I was a small kid :P

@Aarthi > Will Smith was a popular and successful rapper during the late 1980s, but because he spent his money uncontrollably and grossly underpaid his income taxes, the IRS assessed him a penalty of $2.8 million. The agency had subsequently seized a lot of his belongings and garnished his income.[3] This almost caused Smith to go bankrupt when, in 1990, he was approached by the television network NBC, who signed him on to a contract and created a sitcom focused on him.
damned oneboxing ignoring the #id thingy...

user2334
Bel Air, MD is also pretty affluent, and it's within a cab ride of Philadelphia. Not knowing that the intro clearly establishes he took a plane, then a cab when he got to LA, taking a cab to LA from Philly is more absurd than it being in MD imo

I think I may have actually seen the first episode when it originally aired
(was that before @Aarthi was born could walk?)
I coulda sworn there were some Beverly Hills or Hollywood references...

I was born in September 89
so while I don't remember The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff
I remember watching the Fresh Prince show first run as a child. Same for Full House
and ER.

reads wikipedia
his friend lived in Compton...

6:55 PM
and sitting with my mother while watching The Cosby Show and Peter Jennings (descanza en paz)
@freiheit oi

@Aarthi Now I feel old
about time to hobble off to lunch, though

ciao
i should leave me house and get food

@Aarthi we didn't watch prime time TV as kids, so most of what I watched was syndication later on...

I watched most of these shows more religiously in syndication, too :P

@Aarthi haven't braved the zombie apocalypse yet?

6:57 PM
I haven't left my apartment since this time on Sunday

user2334

@Aarthi Given the hurricane apocalypse, that sounds reasonable. In another context, it'd sound pretty nerdy. ;)
(ok, really leaving for lunch now)

@freiheit to be fair, i've had "staycation" weekends
but this is starting to kill me ded.

@Aarthi You're living the dream

7:00 PM
except i'm kind of starved for human contact

@Aarthi You're in NYC. Don't tell me you don't have neighbors

I have neighbors?

@Aarthi that's teh shambling you hear

user2334
@Aarthi so street

I love this boyband.
Sue me; they're my age.

7:04 PM
@Aarthi Point your stereo speakers at the walls and turn the volume up all the way. Then play that track I sent you. It's how neighbors say, "I'm lonely, let's be friends"

user2334
Just start singing some Cutting Crew at the top of your lungs and see if they join in

no. nononono.
TRIED THAT.

@Aarthi Isn't that the dream?

Not for an ENTP :(
Actually, I'm a T/F borderline
so I'm ENTP/ENFP

user2334
7:08 PM
Hell is other people

the internet isn't people?

user2334
soylent green is people

@waxeagle No, the internet is people. Therefore, the internet is hell. And soylent green is the internet.

What can I say? I'm happiest when I am in the midst of a lot of people. Especially when all those people are paying attention to moi.

> The pastime that ENTPs were most strongly overrepresented for was "Taking classes." This is not surprising, since all the Rationals except the ENTJs also tended to like taking classes. (None of the other temperaments even considered "taking classes" to be a leisure activity at all.) ENTPs were also the only Rationals to list "Playing sports" and "Achievement/accomplishment very important" as favorite leisure activities. Otherwise, the items they chose were typical of the NT temperament.
> ENTPs were underrepresented for the pastime of "Watching TV 3 hrs or more per day."

7:10 PM
> Champions [ENFPs] are warm, energetic, spontaneous, positive, exuberant and dramatic.

> Famous ENFPs

user2334
> You are: Batman. Your parents are probably dead, but you still fight crime.

> Adolf Hitler - Fuhrer of the Third Reich, initiator of WWII, mass murderer. (Note: Hitler is often mistyped as an INFJ. At the very end of the war, he was extremely stressed out and began to take on some unhealthy INFJ traits that were not normal for him. However, his true, unstressed personality was ENFP.)

Also, MLK, Jr?

What is this. Why has the reading dropped to just 1,000 milliHitlers?

7:12 PM
@Shog9 Energetic, spontaneous, exuberant, and dramatic

> ENFPs cope with stress mainly by developing physical symptoms; they were the type most likely to do this. They also cope with stress by seeking out the help of a professional. (Most professionals are NFs, and nonsurprisingly most NFs rate "Talk to professional" very highly.)

Oh, @Shog9, you devil you. I was scared there for a moment

@MarkTrapp :D
quizilla ring time.

I've never taken a personality test, but I assume I'd be the opposite of everything

7:16 PM
Would it be in bad taste to discuss Nazi mods while the last reference to Hitler is still on the screen?

only if they're known ENFPs

user2334
@mmyers switch to Stalin, problem solved. I heard he was an ETSJ

user2334
I also have no idea what ETSJ means

user2334
I also made that factoid about Stalin up.

7:20 PM
> ISTJs often work for long periods, devoting their energy to tasks that they see as important to fulfilling a goal. However, they resist putting energy into things that don't make sense to them, or for which they can't see a practical application.
This explains why I've never finished a personality test

user2334

user2334
that's some high-quality practical knowledge right there

@MarkTrapp based on the diagram on that survey it looks like you could duck under the bed, slip out the other side and be out of reach...but I'm guessing it's not to scale...

user2334
@waxeagle Indeed. Velociraptors were only 1-2 feet tall

user2334
So that dude is smaller than the smallest dude in the world

7:29 PM
@MarkTrapp and that bunk bed is nearly doll furniture

hi
I just bought a film camera
unable to rewind it to 0 mark
any help

wrong chatroom, mate.

 Photography Chat

All-things photography related discussion.

ok thanks

7:52 PM
that vid was pretty great
the comments are pretty ignorant.

@Aarthi I as a rule only read the top yt comments. Most of the time comments on anything are just inane garbage..

@Aarthi Are you new to this YouTube thing?

MAYBE
I'm calling it Hurricane Gumbo. It's not bad. #cooking #adventuresinfood http://t.co/A81LtMSM
:9

So it's a fast turkey with extra sharp bits?

yes

7:56 PM
That tail alone looks deadly

We get packs of wild turkeys. They're scarier than you'd think. I think it's safe to assume that I'd run, hide, scream and/or cry in response to a velociraptor.

@mmyers srsly
