In Mountain Lion, is there a way to hide the button in the status bar that opens notification center? The only advantage (for me) over the gesture is that option-clicking the button enables/disables showing alerts and banners (toggles the switch in the notifications center).
I still think ⌘ + ⌥ + ⇧ + v (paste without style) is very handy.
That is, when something is on the clipboard and has unwanted styles along for the ride, this keyboard shortcuts lets you paste just the plain text without any formatting.
