At the moment I'm reading a book about a guy that traveled around the world for several years. He is writing about his travel experience and one thing that he mentions in almost every country is that he meets groups of Israeli travelers that take pictures of themselves in front of famous landmark...
add it in german and we can crowdsource an english translation
there's separate facilities for israeli travellers in australia and thailand too... because israeli travellers stay and open businesses and little expat enclaves are formed. israelis love to be around israelis when soaking in some foreign culture for some reason. there's probably israeli run facilities in india too
as do we all.. I can't wait for a Travel-SE meeting when we could start off the story of the event with "A kiwie, an aussie, a Brit and a Finn walked into a bar..."
eh, depending how you stereotype them.. you could say "A few citizens of former British Empire, a few Scandinavians and some other random fellows walked into a bar".. but it's probably not going to be that funny
my company has just been bought by a fortune 500 (i think? hrm might check that) and they have been sending us happy little videos about our impending doom where the use words like synergistically, so long as the joke doesn't envolve synergy, key metrics or enhancing global cohesion i think we will be sweet
Ah yes, I quipped once on Facebook that these new "social experts" Web 2.0 markedroids must have a hat full of buzzwords like "synergy", "core competences", "key objectives" and whatnot, and draw a handful at random when writing press releases for whatever purpose
I will be travelling in western Europe, and I would like to dine at the restaurants there. Am I expected to tip the waiter/ waitress? How can I tip them when I am paying the bills by credit card? Do I have to prepare some coins just for that purpose?
I almost feel like locking it to prevent 'me too' answers - the first answer provided the wiki link that covers ALL European countries. Meh, it's not harming anyone I guess.
and is providing some more detail on some of the countries
