Q: Why do unbelievers love to harp on the ark story?

Affable GeekI feel like the story of Noah's ark gets way more questions than it deserves. I mean, I believe heartily that it happened, and I feel like I've given really simple answers to most of the questions I've bothered answering - most of them directly answered in the text. What gets me is the choice ...

Q: What doctrine does Family Radio have of the End of the World?

dancekI originally asked this question on October 21, 2011. I had received a link to an article on the eBibleFellowship page explaining how we'd been living the Day of Judgment since May 21, and today (ie. Oct 21, 2011) was the End of the World! We are living in a most unusual time. On May 21, of 2...

As Family Radio now have publicly apologized and admitted their predictions were sinful, the question might portray them in a way that's not true anymore.

@dancek I'll VTC if you want
(or you can change the "does" to "did")

@dancek Rather than needlessly strip rep, I've gone ahead and posted the corrected information as a new answer christianity.stackexchange.com/a/6491/1039

Just a note on product advertisement in questions or answers: Its OK if someone wants to advertise their product in a question or an answer provided the following: They are honest about the fact that it's their product, its topical either to the question or the answer (don't try to sell me a book about fasting on a question about baptism or some such). Then again a bad question is just a bad question, regardless of a spammy taste or not...
(not targetted at anyone in particular to preserve identities of flaggers)

Thanks for that clarification.

@AffableGeek I don't think closing will have any adverse effect on reputation. I do think this is a perfect question to close as "too localized". We are quite unlikely to get anymore thoughtful answers and it's possible the question will attract, um, unstable folks who probably shouldn't be providing answers here. I voted to close.

the only one who would lose rep if we delete that quesiton is AG...
(new deletion rules wrt rep -> any post with score >=3 and that sites on the site for 60+ days keeps its rep even when deleted)

@waxeagle Agreed. But I don't think we should delete the question. ;-)

@JonEricson I think I agree...

Sorry - wasn't actually grubbing for points on that one, I was just trying to make it a useful "signpost"

@AffableGeek oh, didn't realize your answer was new (forgot you were posting and didn't check the date)...I don't see a reason to delete it, open or closed is sort of meh IMO (although closed is considered a precursor to deleted...but...)

I agree with you - its kinda meh
