I once worked on a friend's dad's computer. He had the hard drive divided into six partitions, C: through J:, with a 'Documents' directory tree on each one. Each new file appeared to be saved to a partition at random. I knew enough not to ask.

guys, when you use ssh-copy-id -i 'absolute-path-to-file.pub' it should copy just that key to the authorized_keys on the server right?

coz I just tried that, and it copied all the public keys present in my .ssh directory to the authorized_keys file on the remote machine

it keeps the rsa keys of an ssh server to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks

and thats about it actually. :P

hmm I'm reading page from tor only but one thing I can't understand: -- if I install from Download link on home page is it applicable to all traffic going/coming to computer

yea after download it says tor browser

there are 2 ideas of tor, 1 is system wide and involves you configuring your system to use tor as a proxy, that goes for all traffic

@wisemonkey the browser plug-in adds a nice button to enable/disable tor on firefox, that does not mean the system is using it or that if you press the button it will enable/disable system wide settings, that is only for the browser and nothing else. You can tell Ubuntu to use your tor installation as a proxy for all traffic

I have installed ubuntu 10.04 lts (64bit) on my lenovo thinkpad X60 (Core 2 Duo T5600). I installed 4gb of ram before installing ubuntu, but when I check the available memory in Ubuntu it says that only 2.9gb is installed. I have checked the bios and it shows the full 4gb of ram. basically I just want my stable and development branches to be the same (as dev is currently stable)

is that a merge or just push the same repo to both branches.

git push origin development
git push origin stable

Merge, then push

git checkout stable; git merge development; git push origin stable

Otherwise you overwrite everything in stable with development and bypass merging any hotfixes that may have taken place in stable

when I merged development and stable it kept me in stable.

hrmm... ok now.. I did not realize I was working in the stable branch... from the stable branch I ran
git add *
git commit -am 'blah'
git push origin development

then ` git checkout stable; git merge development; git push origin stable `

now stable has the latest code, but development does not.
