then using the debian stuff to supplement. Have you tested your script on debian though? You first need to make sure it will even work ;)

(probably will, but depending on the exact details you might be using something ubuntu specific, especially if it has to do with updates.)

I am in the process of installing Ubuntu 16.04. Why can't I choose which drive to install to? I got an SSD, which I've previously used for storage, that I would like to install Ubuntu on with LVM LUKS, but the installer defaults to my Windows drive. Any way to get around this?

Q: dkms problem with VirtualBox kernel registration after 15.10 to 16.04 upgrade

After upgrading an Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 machine to 16.04 I have encountered some problems with my VirtualBox and dkms installation. It seems that during the upgrade dkms had some problems registering the old kernel (4.2) going and the new one coming (4.4)... So now I am unable to run VirtualBox VMs...

anyway. I'm trying to figure out what is causing my snap to fail, so I am trying a clean install of UTT in a VM, but when I run setup.py it fails because the root variable is None. It's never defined anywhere at all (source github.com/Seth-Johnson/unity-tweak-tool/blob/master/setup.py). Which leads me to wonder if it is some kind of build something from distutils

Sure it probably works on Ubuntu, but it was made for pretty much any UNIX-based system

Oh, it's not even only for KDE: "and other desktops in the *nix world"

It's literally for any GUI in any UNIX-based OS

So those questions would be on topic as well. Otherwise, we would have to strike out 85% of the site (along with the rep earned from those questions). Stridently declaring all these questions OT hurts all of us, Ubuntu users, and would force to go get yelled at on Unix & Linux for questions they deem too simple.

Nothing personal here, it's just how I see this.
