@ValentinTihomirov That was not a discussion; also it primarily targetted a specific site. This room is to exchange experiences with language sites. If you have a problem with a specific site, complain on their Meta or in their chatroom.

In other words, you say that since every site has its own meta, any discussion of the craziness of every site is a "rant" and must be discussed in the Trash, in that very meta. You contradict to yourself and say that the general discussion, polyglots, makes no sense whatsoever.

If you wish to discuss policies that are shared by many language sites, you are at the right place, but then please do it in a manner that allows others to discuss something. Do not just dump a monologue in here.

So, you say that you are not going to discuss anything because when you come up with a problem, it is a rant/monologue and is therefore cannot be discussed, especially if you there is a huge crap happens. The more crappy things are, the less we should discuss it to fix them.

@ValentinTihomirov No, I am saying, if somebody posts an big wall of text that does not seem to seek input and does not seem to aim being understood by any audience, it’s a monologue. If that text is mostly condescending, it’s also a rant. All of this has nothing to do with constructively discussing something.

@Wrzlprmft Any book is a "wall of text". But, no matter how dirty label you attach to it, it does not mean that the monologue cannot be understood or discussed. I posted "a rant" about the terrible nonsense that was thrown at me. If you have no desire to understand it -- why not just pass by? Leave it to other to read. Probably smbody will be able to put things into the order, whether clarify me the hidden intentions of the site masters or fix the rules and bear misbehaving owners to account.

Just saying "I don't care what you are writing there, so better I remove the text so that others would not care either" is unconstrucitve.

@ValentinTihomirov If I nailed a big poster to your house on which I elaborate how I dislike my mother in law, would you leave it there? Anyway: Why don’t you try to start an actual constructive discussion about what is bothering you?

@ValentinTihomirov No, he didn't write anything like this. Pretending that people said something that they didn't say is definitely not constructive. And this room isn't the place for it. If you have something constructive and on-topic to say, say it. If you're only going to rant and lie, keep quiet.

This whole exchange is again irrelevant for this room, so I'm moving it away.

@Gilles You wanted to say that it was Wrzlprmft who disterted my words. I did not say that I dislike something. @Wrzlprmft distorts my words. I explained what is wrong with ELU masters. You prove that someone is criminal. This might be a wall of evidence. Now comes @Wrzlprmft and says that it must be removed because it is a rant. Discussing the problems = discussing the rants.

When you say that your room exists to discuss the problems but then stop it by reducing the problems to rants, that is not acceptable, you not only distert what I say, you also defeat the purporse of your room.

@Gilles What did that guy said "she sleeps around ..."? The point is that your words bear more meaning than the literal letters that you type. There are implications that we can logically derive. You do not let to analyze your words to the full extent. But, I will. You cannot stop me to ignore how you ignore all my logic and replace it with your dirty fantasies to render me in bad light.

I do not know how to label a position when you first remove something and then deny any objections because any objections are "a rant". Popper would probably call such dialectics "a reinforced dogmatism".
