Hello guys!

@DanHulme Should it not have been frozen instead of being automatically deleted?
You're missing something very important. The manifest of the package of one's interest (the package whose permission is to be affected; `android` in this case) is not involved in the whole process. API level has nothing to do in this case either. I can use `adb shell appops set android SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW deny` in Marshmallow without any obstacle.

I suggest you try another way. At the end you would only notice that your current path didn't reap any benefit in regard to my question.

Q: How to run some admin (Owner) root apps in background for all Users?

WallyI'm using CyanogenMod 12.1 (Rooted) I want to set up a multi user system with me as the admin. I want all or some of my root apps to run in the background. I don't want the root apps to be shown to the normal user if posssible. Is this possible at all or does the User isolation system make it h...

I wonder why it has been downvoted

Hey guys, what is an efficient way of finding ids from the XML activity and assigning it a onclickevent?
Right now I make an array and manually put all the ids in this array, then put all the declared objects (buttons for instance) in an arraylist and running it through a for-loop which assigns each of the objects in said arraylist with its corresponding id
Example: final int BUTTON_IDS = {R.id.calculate}-
I could put the code in here, but I don't know if that is considered spam/against the rules?

Please re consider the downvotes guys. I updated the question with more details.
This is a genuine question coming from a desktop user. I'm new to rooting android.
Looks like Android user accounts behave differenctly from the Desktop OSes. @Firelord ?

@tomSurge Development questions are off-topic in chat room as well. Check the description of the room. :-)

Lol @Firelord it is a matter of perspective's. The many different approaches and different levels of details at which to approach a problem but the constants remain the same no matter the approach.
Whats some parts involved: AppOps, Android System, deny a permission, failure. What is known one approach: using the AppOpps command to deny an app from using a permission. AppOps worked within Kitkat 4.4.x to block a permission. AppOps does not work to block a permission in Lollipop 5.0.x. AppOps witj

Sorry accidently hit send. However, AppOps does work to block a permission in Lollipop 5.1.x. now a different perspective: AppOps worKevin API 20. Failed to work in API 21. However, works in API 22. Deducing that something from changing KK to LP was broke AppOpps. Limiting yourself perspective will limit the possible solutions which in turn limits your success rate.
I am extremely happy with all the knowledge I gained from your question. About the different components of Android that came together in one system. The different reasons from the different components and so on. Thanks @Firelord and there are always benefits even if theyou are not apparently clear.

Oh,.I should mention of your interested in how developer with CM solved the 12.1 AppOps issues with the CM git. I assumed you would be un-interested because it was solved within the android_framework_base. If that is not a route you want to take for a solution to your problem. It will lead to a different solution down the path you want to travel down.

@BoLawson Appops does perfectly work in 5.0.x to block a permission. It is its command-line tool which is giving a problem.
@BoLawson Let me know here when you reach a conclusion. Thanks!

Heya

@Firelord
so what is "Total PSS by process" and "Total PSS by OOM adjustment" ?

Hi Guys
I have a question...
how does imei.info knows my imei number before i used any sim card

> The IMEI is only used for identifying the device and has no permanent or semi-permanent relation to the subscriber. Instead, the subscriber is identified by transmission of an IMSI number, which is stored on a SIM card that can (in theory) be transferred to any handset

@CoolEulerProject IMEI !== IMSI
What @Pandya said/quoted

yes...
My question is how do i find my handset details on IMEI.info without ever using my phone
I am connected to my internet though...
?
@AncientSwordRage, @Pandya ?

@CoolEulerProject To be clear I don't know about imei.info, You can get information about IMEI at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

ok, thanks, @ imei.info, they store all imei no. in used in world, i guess

yes, i posted question in there 2

Q: IMEI.info knows my phone before I put sim

CoolEulerProjectRecently I brought a Moto G3 turbo phone, which I suspect is a factory reset by a seller from other customer, and dispatched to me. I search net for getting in if its factory reset, but non tricks worked, eg: ##786#, ##786#8#* for getting refurbished information as mentioned in this answer I ...

Hey guys. Is there a way to integrate with whatsapp/facebook in a way that i can detect any key stroke that has been made?

@Eminem That sounds like a programming question. We can't help you with programming questions here.

@Eminem seems you're searching for keylogger. There are some apps that have key-logging system (usually: hacking apps, or parental control apps). Consider searching for Android keylogger, but also be careful because some hacking apps usually have trojan/malware.

@AndrewT. Im not looking for an app that do that. I'm looking for some sort of an API that will allow me, as a developer to detect keystrokes/touches on the device, even if they are not "made" on my app.

@Eminem I thought you were writing songs not programs?

@Devrim You literally asked about it all across the internet
I admire your dedication

@CoolEulerProject they don't need to store the number: each manufacturer has its own "block" of numbers, so you can tell things like the phone manufacturer and model just by looking at the different parts of it
the same way you can tell what area a landline number is from just by looking at the area code

4:58 PM
@SarpSTA I've asked on adroid stack and on chat.. How is that all across all the internet?

6:59 PM
@Devrim I found literally the same
question
On at least 5 other websites
all asked the same day as your question.

11:01 PM
@SarpSTA None of them are the same question. My phone is a htc one m8. It happened after marshmallow update. Now that error keeps popping up on the set-up screen and cannot proceed. What you see on the net are apps crashing while the phone is running...
