Good. Patterns take some effort to collect and maintain, but the effort pays off when they begin detecting sites that are new.
According to metasmoke, pattern-matching detected 2.5 as much spam as the explicit site blacklist, with nearly the same rate of true positives.

I don't have time today, but in the future I think we should add maxRep parameter to each spam rule. This will enable differentiated treatment of blacklisted sites versus "brain power" versus offensive stuff.

sounds good

blacklisted sites can have maxRep = 50, because those spammers sometimes get themselves accepted or even upvoted.
baba or brain power can have it as low as 5: those spammers never, ever have more than 1 rep. All reports of them from users with >1 rep are false positives.
And offensive can be 1e9.

@NormalHuman Interesting. Also the lead dev once said, "Note that a user's quota may be reset at a different time than an apps as well..." !?
Then he also said "Certain types of applications — services and websites, to name two — can legitimately have much higher per-day request requirements than typical applications. If you can demonstrate a need for a higher request quota, contact us."
