Why are Homogeneous Coordinates used in Computer Graphics?
What would be the problem if Homogeneous Coordinates were not used in matrix transformations?
For normalization purposes, how to "extract" a BRDF function from an ad-hoc piece of pixel shading code ?
If we have a shader function like:
float4 MyShadingFunction(float3 incomingLightDirection, float incomingRadiance)
{
float4 lightContributionToPixelColor;

This question has 2 downvotes at present, but no close votes. There is a comment suggesting that the question is unclear, which is a valid close reason, but I don't know whether both the downvotes are for this reason.
Perhaps it would be useful to have a discussion about downvotes and close vote...
That's very strange. I was about to thank you for drawing my attention to the queues needing attention, since I haven't had a notification in the top bar that reviewing needs looking at. However, even when I go to the review page I see nothing (there was one close vote question, which I have voted on, but now it's empty...)
This question includes a copy of a page from a copyrighted book. Credit is given to the original source, but there is no indication that the author has given permission for this use. Searching for this book on Google Books does not permit viewing the page concerned, suggesting that the copyright ...
@trichoplax well the other one would be due to the CV you cast yourself earlier. you have probably already reviewed the LQPs that are still there (I think they've been sitting around for a while)
Ah of course - I'd forgotten that low quality posts need multiple votes before deleting.
So the only annoying thing is that the single close vote question that was eligible for me to vote on didn't trigger a review queue notification at the top of my screen
A few times on Computer Graphics I've had the false notification which shows 3 or 4 but then when I go to the review page it's empty. I wish they'd fix that
It has meant that I'm in a habit of ignoring the notification bar and only see reviews when I manually check the page.
Did anyone of you hear something from the Community Team about moderators for our site? The to-be moderators will be able to one-hit handle all the pending flags/CVs/etc.
Some (most?) moderators will only use that power sparingly
So an obvious problem question will be closed in a single vote, but otherwise it will be left to standard voting so that it is the community deciding rather than the mods
I have no idea what the timescale is for these things - I've never been nominated before. I think most sites have had mods by now though. Maybe they contacted some people and are waiting for decisions? Or maybe they're all busy on something else
