@J.Musser Hey J. Can you delete the link I posted to the question I don't like? I thought I could go back and do it after showing it to you but I can't. Now it's sitting open in this room and might be offensive to people, including me! Yikes! I'd flag it for a moderator, but I think that's you!
@darthnesscoveredthesky, friend, please slow down on the comments. It's okay (probably preferred) to be friendly in comments, but it there's something you need to tell someone, overdoing the friendliness sometimes makes your message unclear.
@darthnesscoveredthesky That's all right; we're all learning here. This site is a little tougher than many others, because what exactly is and isn't on-topic is still a little fuzzy, at best
@J.Musser Oh, I don't understand how to condense my words. Is it really a problem, that is the way people talk on WikiHow and they are very nice there :)
....don't misunderstand me, @darthnesscoveredthesky; I think that simply saying "this is wrong with your post" is also bad, because then people think you're fighting with them. You've got to find some kind of balance in how many words to use in a comment
You can use temperature strips purchased at a hardware store to show you where the oil level is. These strips change color with temperature, showing you where the cooler (or warmer) fuel oil is my measuring the temperature of the outside of the metal tank. @darthnesscoveredthesky It's tough, I know. But moderators aren't the silver bullet solution, here -- moderation is up to the community. Moderators help, but it's really up to all of us
@J.Musser I know, I know, but it's good information, and presented in a way that can be understood well.

@darthnesscoveredthesky ....I wouldn't, though, because I think that if I would edit, I'd destroy the "voice" of your post -- that post could only have been written by you, and I wouldn't change a word, even for the purpose of "grammar."
....that is, unless you want it to be written in correct grammar....
@J.Musser That was part of our last discussion -- IIRC, you were bugging out that mods weren't chosen yet, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
@darthnesscoveredthesky Declining a mod nomination doesn't mean that he'll stop using the site -- he just won't be a mod. (I don't claim to speak for him; that may have been cold-turkey quitting, but he can do whatever he wants)
@darthnesscoveredthesky I can't see it. You can see it 'cuz you wrote it, but no one else (with less than 2,000 rep points) can. It'll stay there in case you decide to edit it to be better, or decide that it was really okay like it was.
@Shokhet Oh, I am good mess. But still I have a lot of things that need to be categorized, so I am messy. I put things on shelf, not messy. Explained :) You are very nice :)

I want someone to nominate me again for Pro Temp moderator, I really think I can help the site. And a lot of people have pulled out, so what do you think?
Your biggest strength seems to be that you aren't giving up on the site, which is a good sign. But you don't seem to have a great understanding of how things should work, etc.
You prolly wanna do some serious work if you want to become a mod.
You have to be great at looking at a situation that regular users don't know how to handle, and deciding what is the best way to go. You will pretty much represent the site.
You have to know how to deal with sometimes extremely bad/rude users, never get sucked into an argument, look over and deal well with everything anyone flags, etc
A mod does not necessarily need to coach as you have been, they are there to be a user, but also (mostly) to deal with the things the site users can't deal with, and putting things straight where they begin to stray.
I try to be good at handling these situations on Wikihow, I didn't get offended and handled a user who called me "Bich" I quote them. Trollers on wikihow can be really mean, just a quick FYI.
@J.Musser So my participation on Meta wasn't a example of that or is that not what your talking about?
@J.Musser I would tell them that "Editing old questions are good and helps to add quality to the site, but by bumping up so many old questions you are taking the attention away from the new ones. Thus, only a few old questions should be edited per day. If you have any questions ask on Meta or in Chat.
@J.Musser Not me. And I want my old username back, but I can't get it for almost a month :( You told me I could change it everyday, that so didn't work :)
@J.Musser In a comment on their question. But I am sure that is the wrong answer :)
This image sums it up:
Here we have an item in the review queue (link to review, link to question)
You can see that we have 6 people voted - 3 for leave open and 3 for close. I voted to Leave Open because I believe it is clear what it's asking.
If the review queue is that subjective this sit...
How would you respond to a custom flag that read: "I'm now certain that this user has been serially downvoting me. I don't want to publicly shame, thus the flag. Please deal with the situation to the best of your judgement. Thank you for your time."
@J.Musser Thank You for your response. I will make sure to follow up on this situation and make sure everything is OK. I don't think I can tell you what the user's activity is, but I will make to help in any way I can. Thank You.
Was that good. I thought it sucked, excuse my language :)
Any body have any tips to stop one from mumbling?
I have already tried usually speaking loud, then I go quiet. It's like I'm lazy to talk.
When I speak loud, it's like I'm shouting too. Sounds like I've lost the ability to know when I'm shouting or not.
@darthness how would you respond to a custom flag reading 'not to sure about this one thx' on http://lifehacks.stackexchange.com/questions/288/my-pants-are-falling-off#comment394_288
@J.Musser I would decline. It seems like a joke sort of, but I think that this post might also voice a point. I would ask others if I could, but I would decline.
