I really need to look for some new hosting. When my last provider closed up shop, I procrastinated for too long, and ended up just spinning up an instance on AWS to replace it. It's been rock solid and fast, but it's ridiculously expensive hosting for a couple of little websites and a mail server.
@TerryChia Yeah, they're all either dodgy, or going out of business, it seems. My last host was great...Till they sold the company and wound up their cheap hosting operation.

@Xander well those guys have a datacentrue in Canada. but yeah it's weird that OVH/SYS and also hetzner are europe based which are the two big dedicated server providers that I've seen providing cheap kit

During Winter Bash, users can earn hats. But sometimes it seems that a hat was awarded even though its requirements weren't (yet) met, or vice versa.
What could the reason for this be?

@Simon @TerryChia @Xander so the SYS server seems pretty good so far, have ESXi and 4 VMs set-up on it and it's working ok. The IP configuration is down-right weird (the Host IP and the extra IPs they asssign are in completely different netblocks and they get you to assign /32 netmasks which is an odd thing to do) but all seems to work ok

@RoryAlsop I greatly enjoyed watching some gameplay videos of it but I also got the feeling that actual gameplay will suck ... plus, there isn't a single player option, is it?

@RoryAlsop There's 128 positive and 10 negative reviews ... OK, I read some of the negative ones and some of what they say I'd agree with, but for a 2004 game that still looks, feels and plays better than most 2014 titles and comes with a £2.79 pice tag, I'd say it's definitely worth it
My biggest gripe with it would be that it's kinda short, especially for the second play-through when you've already learned the ropes, and that there's no sequels
