I have an idea for commercials: throw crap at the competition.
Example: If Samsung made a commercial where they asked cat++ what he thinks of his iphone that bent when he had it in his pocket and sat down.
too lazy to type it again
interrupt superbowl with an interview with Cerb where he can give his view on apple :)
or maybe someone even more famous?

proof ad Cerbero: convince people to buy Samsung if Cerb will just stop complaining about Apple.

:)
just an example
I think it could be more effective that trying to tell people that your product is

mud slinging is a tactic, politicians use it. I don't think the British public is particularly partial to it, though

My product is so nice!

telling us that the competition is crap doesn't tell us you are any good
you're better than shit? ok, well I'm better than shit, should I be prime minister?
oh, the new iPhone is crap? well I'll stick to my currently working and not bent phone.
I think calling out competitors isn't allowed by UK advertising laws
otherwise they wouldn't say things like "twice as good as the leading brand"
they'd just name the brand they're better than

8:18 PM
it seems childish to call each other names anyway

indeed

spend your time making a better product

or maybe they are allowed to call them out but have realised that if they do they are giving recognition to their competitors. Essentially free advertising

good point^

who knows, but they certainly don't explicitly say who they are better than

8:21 PM
Coke & Pepsi do it.

@MattЭллен I think it might have to do with libel and slander laws, or truth-in-advertising claims.
But maybe it's just about not saying who you think is your competitor.

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 ah, yeah, that could be it

@MattЭллен purrhaps

perhaps
perhaps
doot do do do do do

8:32 PM
have you heard the viral news that earth will be in darkness for 6 days from dec 16 to 21 ?

I think that's not true. I think that's what I heard
let me find my sauce

Any time you hear news like that you can just ignore it.

@MattЭллен thanks for the link :-)

no trouble!

8:38 PM

@MattЭллен Hey, Matt . . . is Oxfordshire kind of the "middle-America" of England? I mean, does it represent the center of the socioeconomic and political spectra over there?
