Do the comments I provided here to some of my light verse add anything useful beyond the works themselves? In particular I am interested in opinions about whether I am imagining that certain subtle factors of form are noticeably communicating sense?
This is an expect of dialogue from a short story I wrote:
Finally, a log caught fire, followed by the rest. And in no time Paola
and I had a display of dancing flames before us, their warmth entering
every pore of our skin.
"You're pretty good." Paola looked genuinely impressed.
...
After a haze of alcohol at the bar, we hurried to the nearest hotel,
without any words exchanged, only steamy sensual fancies filling our
heads. ....In the hotel room, I unzipped his trousers, his penis
popping out. It had already attained its virile phallus. I, too,
undressed myself...
The book the quote is from is also being cited throughout the thesis, so naturally it is included in the bibliography.
What should the citation look like? Consistent with the citation style used in the text? Or is something including the full title favorable?

I have just started writing a story based on the point of view of the main character. What I would like to know is what are the advantages/disadvantages of writing in this style and does it make it more complicated for the reader?
