It seems rather odd to be able to create a blank, difficult to find account - this guy or gal seems to be a user in good standing, but... It seems to be kind of wierd nonetheless, what's happ...

Background
I ran out of space on /home/data and need to transfer /home/data/repo to /home/data2.
/home/data/repo contains 1M dirs, each of which contain 11 dirs and 10 files. It totals 2TB.
/home/data is on ext3 with dir_index enabled.
/home/data2 is on ext4.
Running CentOS 6.4.

is it just me, or does playing certain songs on your playlist almost guarantee that someone will interrupt you either by phone or in person and want to talk to you?
some songs are OK and people leave me alone, but if I play other songs, it, like, sends out a hypersonic signal that peoples' brains subconsciously intercept that makes them want to come bother me
unless they deliver a firmware update to my headphones via bluetooth without my approval that causes them to seek out other bluetooth devices and install Beats (the DSP program) on them
@Bob overpriced? check. bass-heavy? to an extent, but it can easily be mitigated with an equalizer, or alternatively, it actually sounds good with certain music. generic? don't know what that means but they don't seem terribly generic
I still like my Sennheiser studio monitoring headphones better, except that I have only one pair, and taking them back and forth to work is weird (and annoying), so I don't do that... and also, Sennheiser's bluetooth headsets are even more expensive than that Beats pair
I was lucky enough to find decentish very cheap ones
I wouldn't carry good ones in my pocket

the only audio system that annoys me these days is the bluetooth audio in my car. it receives the signal well enough, but the acoustics of the stereo somehow leave out large parts of the mid to trebel range, making it hard to hear instruments such as background bass guitar, low piano notes, low viola notes, etc
partly the fault of road noise though. it's a Civic...

@Psycogeek USB3 has a much higher protocol overhead than (e)SATA/SAS/PCI-E, and a lower maximum transfer rate, so you get higher latencies, worse seek times, less throughput, etc. -- which is why only actual Flash drives, which are painfully slow, are USB, and true SSDs are generally not
unless you interface an (e/m)SATA drive with a SATA<->USB controller that executes SATA commands on the SSD and marshalls the data blocks to/from the host over USB Mass Storage
@Bob with the screen off, it really doesn't; especially if you have the songs cached or downloaded already
Premium lets you download the songs in an encrypted format that only Spotify can play -- that's the downside -- but the upside is you save on bandwidth and battery

the overhead of a packetized general purpose protocol like USB3 is going to be higher on the host CPU than something specialized like SATA, especially for high throughput
it's not like "omg, USB3 is using 50% CPU!" but it's non-zero
also, Amazon's product recommendations are retarded. if I spend 30 seconds looking at some random USB car charger, next time I log into Amazon, I get inundated with ads and recommendations for car charging accessories
I'm not a person who obsessively buys extra accessories just because they're there and I have the money. come on, Amazon, stop being so robotic about your offerings
