How _not_ to do GIS...

Personally I find the processing or geoprocessing tags to be quite meta, right along with analysis. Thanks for the improvements. @PolyGeo @AndreSilva
I've found another tag with issues that I don't quite feel like working on at the moment if someone else wants to have a go. nearest-neighor with 58 questions has a wiki definition specific to a raster resampling method. However it's applied to all kinds of nearest questions, raster or otherwise. Part of the problem might be a QGIS tool called nearest neighbors, which I suppose could be handled the same way the recent CartoDB one was - create qgis-nearest-neighbors.
At any rate, disambiguation or a new wiki is needed. There's already a nearest tag I created for vector, distinct from proximity since the latter applies to distances for multiple features but nearest is only one (despite that both tools can be set to do either).
On another topic, anyone else have to jump through hoops to sign into chat now? For a few months I can't get it to work on IE11 (or whatever is current). I've been to the meta and test page, seen the failure, but the setting they say to change in the fix is already set the way they say to set it for me. In Firefox (again latest) it won't pick up me being signed in to GIS.SE or even SE in general. I have to go to chat, sign in a second or third time, and find my way back to this room.

@ChrisW It sounds like does need disambiguationg. I was not aware that QGIS had a tool of that name and a different function to the raster one. I think the approach you suggest, based on what we did for may be the way to go. Does the function of QGIS nearest neighbors go by a better recognized name?
@ChrisW I use IE11 mainly, and am having no problems logging into chat. I use a gmail account to authenticate with Stack Exchange so perhaps you do that bit differently to me.
If no joy - you may want to investigate/ask via the main Meta SE.

@PolyGeo I don't know if it has better recognized names or not. See manual.linfiniti.com/en/vector_analysis/spatial_statistics.html at 4.4. It appears to be a spatial statistic, so qgis-nearest-neighbor wouldn't really be synonym to nearest. It isn't the same as the Distance Matrix tool, which is another nearest/proximity type tool. The extent of my familiarity with QGIS is mostly help files and internet search results - no practical use yet.
And yes, I just use a stackexchange account to sign in. I have the sloppy firefox workaround, so I haven't bothered with meta yet, but I do wonder if the issue I have might be keeping others way from using chat at all.

@ChrisW I know some workplaces don't allow access to chat because that prevents one of our moderators from appearing in chat rooms as much as they would like to.
What that QGIS tool does is not clear to me either. I think I'll leave trying to address disambiguation of for a Meta SE Q&A. It does not represent a set of Q&As that I ever find time to do more than glance at.
