@Sathya @jonsca @phwd @ChrisF Hey guys. I'm a mod over at Graphic Design. Does this look like a question you guys would want to have and can answr?

> in Wikipedia app
No.
It's about the Android app, not the website.
If you want to migrate it anywhere then Android Enthusiasts would be the best bet

thx!
Ten to one they will send me back here, it always happens when I start asking around to migrate a Q :)

Once you know the scope of the target site, don't ask.
Well, make sure it's a good question first. (First rule of migration - "don't migrate crap")

can you at least be nice about it?

If the target site doesn't want it they can always reject the migration.

8:55 AM
I do not know the scope of all gazillion stacks and I follow suggestions from users. I am averse to throwing crap over the wall, so I ask dfirst
but if this is the reception I get, this is the last time I'll ask here.

I wasn't saying that you were going to migrate a crap question - it looked OK. Just reiterating the rules.

thanks for making my already crappy day even worse. Bye.\

Please don't take what I say personally.

lol
@Vincent "don't migrate crap" meta.stackexchange.com/questions/91411/… You're getting worked up at the wrong person even.
Next time try Teacher's Lounge.
ChrisF is probably one of the most (if not the most) helpful mods on Stack Exchange network. So this is so hilarious for me to see.

@phwd I am not wanting to suggest that @ChrisF is not helpful. It is just that I experienced his answer to my question as very blunt and bureaucratic. I know the rules, but I make it a point to go beyond a bit and ask whether it's a good idea to migrate a Q first.
Because I don't keep track of the scope of all--what, 120?--stack sites, I tend to follow suggestions from user comments. That lead me here to ask whether a Q would be okay there.
I will admit that I interpreted things in the worst way possible. My day has been crap and I overreacted. I apologise.
If either of you want to discuss things further, ping me or find me in the Ink spot.

@Vincent - no worries.
We all have bad days and I see how my comments came across as a bit blunt (shall we say).
The perils of trying to get things done fast.
What I meant to say was that pinging is a good idea if you're unsure of the target site's scope, but after that it's easier all round just to migrate.
The worst that can happen is that the question gets closed and the migration rejected.

@ChrisF Ah. Well, it was my first time here, so there goes :)

Yeah. I should have realised that.

I usually ask, because I am active almost exclusively on GD.
And I'd hate for a good Q to get lost in a migration - rejection - closure ping-pong

Indeed, that's not what we want.

2:32 PM
You know what? Turns out it was a good for Android Enthusiasts, but I can't migrate it there 'cos the Asker is suspended over there

It turns out that the author of the question in question has already asked several poorly received questions on Android, so perhaps had chosen your site as a way of getting their question asked.
Oh, does a suspension prevent the migration?

yeah, I figured as much. That's why it's closed now and I have no intention of sending it anywhere
apparently! I wasn't aware before this morning
Oh, and let's not skip this:
offers hand Hi ChrisF, good to meet you. :)

accepts hand - hi, good to meet you too.
You should really hang out in TL from time to time.
There can be lots of noise, but there are always people around willing to help.
and of course suspension blocks the migration - I should have remembered.

I guess. It kind of scares me, tbh. I feel very unwelcome at SO still and I suppose TL is full of SO mods

We're usually quite quiet in TL (I'm an SO mod as well). We have our own room on chat.stackoverflow.

2:38 PM
I'll give it a try next time, thanks. We GDs tend to keep to ourselves, mostly. Possibly because our Qs can be way more subjective than average and we're rather mellow :)

Mellow is good ;)
I ought to try that sometime ;)

2:51 PM
@phwd That's very nice of you to say (the bit about me).
