Hi, can anyone tell me how long it takes for a flagged answer to be deleted after it's been marked "helpful?". I flagged an answer I wrote a while ago and cited "personally identifiable information" as the reason why I want it deleted. The flag has been marked "helpful" but I can still see the older revision of the answer and it hasn't been deleted yet.

@Vinayak Flags may be marked 'Helpful' without any change to the post.

@pnuts I see. So how can I get that the answer deleted?

@Vinayak Is it your own question?

@JacobJanTuinstra It's not my question, but it is my answer.

@Vinayak You can delete your own answer.....

@JacobJanTuinstra Yeah, but it is my understanding that answers can be 'undeleted?'. Is there a way to just delete one revision of an answer?

@Vinayak Not that I'm aware of. @pnuts?

General rule is that once something is on the net it is there for ever (eg Wayback machine). However amongst all else that is there it might as well not exist if difficult enough to find - as this now may be.

@pnuts I just tested it with Wayback Machine. Thankfully there is a robots.txt in place and Wayback Machine seems to respect that.

Also Google caches and SE data dumps ... (in theory)

@pnuts But you're right. Once it's out there, it's out there. I did find the same post in another website that doesn't respect robots.txt
Oliver from Super User suggested I use one of the many contact forms on the website. I haven't tried that yet.
If that doesn't work, I guess I'll delete the answer and add another one in place.

If you delete i I think it would remain visible to 10K+ users - not that there are many of those here.

@pnuts yeah I understand that. Hopefully that'll be enough. Thanks for your help. And you too, @JacobJanTuinstra

I would have expected just your edit to be sufficient. It is quite common for one person to edit out another's personal details but leave them in the edit history.
I think the post has averaged less than 20 views per month and you, a mod and I might be the only ones to have looked at the edit history. And the rate of future views of the visible post will probably be much less.
