Hi. Is anybody here ?

@user43418 yes

I got this cipher in my email a couple of days ago and have tried multiple ways of deciphering it to no avail
I don't want to post it on the forum because nobody would find use for it in the future

@user43418 like a bunch of ciphertext letters w/o much context?

yeah. They did send me hints but meh
Do you mind taking a look at it maybe ?
....what is your real profession anyway?

Bim'm jgbi zg uwmhz eqxxh ny vtg? Mhk xzuum lfzl, Qlbh!

@user43418 I'm not into this kind of puzzling (what it really is at the end) so while you may post it, chances are I won't be useful
by the looks of it, it's probably an intermediate classical cipher

11:06 PM
Can you maybe give it a quick try ?

No idea of the actual algorithm but it looks like a) it always operates on letters and ignores casing and b) operates on blocks of letters and not on single letters
making it probably a polyalphabetic substitution cipher
@user43418 if you're lucky it's this:
The Vigenère cipher is a method of encrypting alphabetic text by using a series of different Caesar ciphers based on the letters of a keyword. It is a simple form of polyalphabetic substitution. The Vigenère (French pronunciation: [viʒnɛːʁ]) cipher has been reinvented many times. The method was originally described by Giovan Battista Bellaso in his 1553 book La cifra del. Sig. Giovan Battista Bellaso; however, the scheme was later misattributed to Blaise de Vigenère in the 19th century, and is now widely known as the "Vigenère cipher". Though the cipher is easy to understand and implement, for...
@user43418 is this the same user as you? crypto.stackexchange.com/users/43009/rahul

omg what an asshole
I asked him this cipher on chegg
and he's asking the forum to solve it

@user43418 chegg?

and he'll get money for it
yeah it's like a tutoring website
although this was only a puzzle

@user43418 he won't receive an answer here, there are already like 3 close votes on his Q

11:12 PM
lol good
