Hello EnergyNumbers, thanks for JouleBug recommendation, do you maybe have any other ways to connect with nearby sustainable thinkers?

Hi @VladIlie I think it was me who recommended Joulebug
At least I did so in this comment: sustainability.stackexchange.com/questions/4326/…
There are many internet forums on sustainability, there is a good chance there is one in your country. I'd recommend googling for it
Another way I personally connected with other sustainable thinkers in the past is by doing online courses on the topic. For example both coursera.org and edx.org have courses on sustainability and environmental science and those courses usually have discussion assignments where you can react to other people's posts
Is there a particular sustainability problem you are interested in?

Hi @THelper, yes, that was the comment I was referring to. Sorry for my confusion. Both you and @EnergyNumbers have helped me quite a lot with your answers, and comments, and I got confused :)
Shifting from fossil fuels to renewable sources is the #1 thing that I want to do. And of course energy efficiency is something that compliments that mission in a nice way.

No problem @VladIlie. Renewable energy isn't my strong point, EnergyNumbers probably knows more, but I understand that you are looking for people close by. Did you try googling for 'renewable energy forum' but then in your own language?
In many countries there are also groups of people cooperating to start a solar or wind energy farm together. Perhaps there are also groups near you you can contact?

Googling is yielding very poor results at the moment. I will try harder...
By the way, thank you very much for the coursera sustainability course link

You're welcome! Both Coursera and Edx have very interesting courses, also on renewable energy, but sometimes it takes a while before an interesting course starts again.

@VladIlie You're very welcome. I agree with THelper's suggestion re EdX and Coursera. I think Jeff Sachs has an ongoing course on one of them right now, on Sustainability, which might be interesting.
Re renewable energy in Romania, there has been some work on large-scale wind in Romania, I'll see if I can dig it out.

@EnergyNumbers Do you mean this course: coursera.org/learn/sustainabledevelopment1?
It's indeed a great one and is open all the time! The only drawback is that since it is self-paced there is no discussion forum with fellow students you can meet.

@THelper Ah, that must be the one, yes. Oh dear, I didn't realise there were no discussion forums for it. And a quick search through my literature database didn't find any researchers in wind active in Romania.
