Q: What to do with Low Quality posts that you just can't delete

JimEvery so often, an answer like this shows up in the low-quality review queue (that one showed up today for me). When it does, we are presented with the familiar choices: "Looks OK", "Edit", "Recommend Deletion", and "Skip". Now as per a previous meta discussion, questions like this shouldn't be d...

visited 350 days, 99 consecutive... I hope I don't forget to log in tomorrow :)

@Kyle Get the app
Make it part of your daily routine
That's what I do
Check email, check ChessTime, check Words with Friends, check SE network

@KyleKanos how do you think I got to 99 ;)

Haha. I got to 100 the old fashioned way: using my computer
At least for Physics
Not quite there for CodeGolf

I'm using computer
occasionally log in via browser on my phone, but phone is old and crappy so it's not a particularly enjoyable experience, usually
initially I thought 100 consecutive days would end up being log-in-> leave pretty often, but I've found I've been contributing (at least a couple of up/downvotes) most days

Yeah, my M-F routine involves being on all day long
Editing, answering, voting, 3k+ stuff
Probably why I am 1 of like 10 people who have the Gold badge for Copy Editing

I'm active on the review queues, but I don't edit as often as perhaps I should

Someone going for Strunk&White again it looks like. Rapid sequence of suggested edits adding the 'water' tag. Is there anything I should be doing as a reviewer? On the one hand these minor edits are dredging up a bunch of old questions, many of which are closed or just not very good. On the other hand, good tagging is good.

When I saw that, I was rather like "What the hell is a 'water' tag for?" Then I looked and it had 400 questions...

@ACuriousMind I did the same thing... though on reflection it makes sense to have the tag - water does have some curious (unique?) physical properties.
Not that I'm suggesting that this tag is only being used on questions about such interesting physical properties of water, but in principle...

@Kyle Yeah, it has, but now I'm left wondering if it should only be applied to those questions about these properties, or to everything with water in it.

Aaaaand just saw the irony in "flooding" the front page with questions about "water".

@Kyle Interesting fact: at 10,000 rep, one can do "inline" tag edits. Thus the system has some belief that pure tag edits are still good, and that sometimes all that a question needs is retagging. On the other hand, the fact that this is reserved for such a high rep level means it's the kind of responsibility not to be taken lightly, I guess?

@Qmechanic (or any other mods in the area, but I think I saw you here recently) - perhaps you could use your powers to kindly message VividD about not making too many edits on old questions all at once?

@ChrisWhite I was trying to figure out how to do that reasonably elegantly, and eventually gave up... best I could think of was a comment ping on some question s/he edited.

user54412
yeah that might work too

I know mods can private message people (usually with warnings), but more importantly I think they can ping anyone in chat, even if those people haven't been in the room

Hi @VividV: Concerning your latest edits: We appreciate your clean-up effort, but try to limit edits of old questions to only a handful at the time not to clog the front page, and try to make every edit count, i.e. as substantial as possible. Minor edits should be avoided. — Qmechanic ♦ 7 mins ago
