@pnuts Sorry, I haven't been checking chat very frequently over the summer. I think your last comment on the question encompasses what I would say. While the questions aren't exactly the same, the answer works for both.

@Jacob Somewhere on WA you compare Google Sheets and Excel functions. I failed to find this when wondering why, in connection with “Google Spreadsheet add rows until marker”, what works in Excel (=SUM(B1:OFFSET(B1,MATCH("#*",A2:A99,0),0))) does NOT for Sheets. Both have OFFSET and ADDRESS functions but neither of these work quite the same across applications. Do you have this on your website (where I have also failed to find it!)?
