@Howdy_McGee, yes, but you should read the summery of the editor chat. All ideas are good ideas.... You are so focused on not offending anyone you forget there is a discussion between humans and humans rarely fully agree with each other.
So I guess it ends up in a pretend of an open discussion while true decisions are being made backstage in a non transparent way, because it is rarely possible to have a decision about where to spend time or money and keep everybody happy, so you just avoid making even slightly controvertial decision in public
... and the worst side of it is that people that dare to criticize are just marked as "not nice people" and being ignored. For example it took matt to make the rest api people to stop bulshiting around, all the people that said before him that they luck true focus were just tagged as "not nice/productive" and ignored
For me bad experience with WPE. Restriction on plugins, custom MU plugins and wp-config stuff that you are forced to use. Also no shell access and pretty broken Git integration makes SFTP only viable "deploy strategy"... And recently a client want to leave them because they are going to change price policy (not sure how) and is going to become very expensive if you have a lot of users. There are some nice things like automatic staging environent, but I would not recommend them.
I recently got told "We have a web shell and a browser file uploader both over https" when I was complaining to a host that they don't have a secure way to upload files and work with the server. Only FTP. No FTPS or SFTP. Only FTP...
migrated a friend off WP Engine while back, their backups didn't have WP uploads included in them or something like that (what). and I don't think they allow backup plugins which is major deal breaker for me, never ever trust someone else with primary backups.
For all of you hating on Breadcrumbs yesterday. They're actually used by Google in determining site structure. Check out Google's search results. They append breadcrumb structure to URL in results. Important part of site structure and SERP. So eat it.
LOL @MichaelEcklund, yes you probably had not worked much with sites that every link has to be justified by the money it generates, or with a complex design that do not leave any place for it

As I said here or elsewere in the past, negative input is important input. It is the responsibility of the person recieving it (including me) to learn from it instead of just think "that person is not nice" and there is always something to learn from negative input even if you end up in the same position where you started
because amazon has an hierarchy and it helps the user navigate. Most sites don't realy have an hirarchy that is worth to navigate to, for example the wordpress category page... it is just an unorgenized and unstructured content
yes and no. I know what annoys me at site design and assume that since I have been around a little I got some grasp of what is just annoying for me personaly and what just doesn't work. And I also use a lot of sites and no popular site except for amazon has breadcrumbs, or they are so hidden you will not notice them. Even the google developers doc I pointed you to do not have a breadcrumbs I could locate
obviously this might be related to the site I use, but the point is that it is not a "must"
