Coming back from WordCmp Prague, and @lkraav messed up my support forum. :)

10:59 AM
i sure did :)
worked hard at it too
if you'd just give me a cc on all emails, at mailserver level or whatever, that are written in the forum, i could stop manual cc/ing right there

I don't have any control over the forum software. If it were my own, it would be public, and it had a feed.

11:30 AM
do you own inpsyde?
or you're saying the forum is an external service?

I am employed at Inpsyde. The forum isn't handled by me, I just write answers.

i see

@toscho maybe my activity on the forum will help the management understand what the problem is, and force some progressive action. unless the revenue from the product is so small, nobody cares?
good news is, i only got through like 3 first pages of topics. there's many more pages to go, in order to know everything relevant :)
i gotta figure out a custom field translation workflow

@toscho i notice there's a SUBSCRIBE link in the top right corner of every thread. i dont have to spam the threads after all. but someone really should make them more buttonlike / visible.

@toscho is it possible to get a piece of your thoughts on custom field-based content block translation ux with MLP, tonight? i could use someone with experience to point out some weak spots in the approach i have in mind for a presentation tomorrow. im not sure i can count on the forum at the moment, or can i? either way, if youre too busy to give a response, i understand

5:07 PM
shortcake development looks interesting
i recognize a bunch of committers
so the outcome of this project should be quite good

@toscho just got the forum notification about multilingualpress.pro is the pro version free now? that guy has a legit question
i never knew that landing page from before
oh wow, it is indeed the pro download. are you guys switching to the "ubiquity over scarcity" model wptavern.com/gravityview-is-now-public-on-github

@lkraav the plugin code will be organized and distributed differently now. I cannot say much about that right now.
Note that this download is actually not v 2.1.2, it is a snapshot of the next version provided for the WordCamp Prague.

oh, this is the preview you spoke about on the support forum?

not really. it's difficult

download didnt say anything about being advanced in changelog or plugin header

because there is still no clean way to get the pro users to the new version

9:50 PM
hrm
does it make sense for me to clean out my multisite and start over with this preview instead?
because i dont have any content yet actaully

no, it is not ready
I would have released it officially otherwise

ok. so pro is at least reasonably future proof right now? upgrades will come?

Honestly, I am not sure. Decisions were made while I was absent. :/

geez.
i would feel much safer if you owned the company behind this plugin

one problem is that free and pro use different directory names and the pro cannot safely wipe an existing free version. and vice versa
please understand that I will not discuss that in public until I see a clear path for the future. I can just guarantee that I will not let those users down who are in need of a reliable, professional support.

9:56 PM
"will not" i hope? :)

corrected already :)

that's all i needed to know

ahh, I cannot type anymore. time to get some sleep

ok, ttyl
