@AndyW There's a free webinar coming up on Wednesday (the 25th) on how to use their tree -- and a library of how-to videos on this page: findmypast.com/build-your-tree
How to use your Findmypast tree.
LIVE WEBCAST DATE: May 25, 2016
LIVE WEBCAST TIME: 04:00 PM BST
When I go to Findmypast, it pops up a widget in the lower-right screen asking if I want to register.
The webcasts are about 30 minutes.
You get a link in an email after you register. I think that even if you can't make the live webcast, they'll send you another link to watch it afterwards (or the same link points to that webinar afterwards -- I'm not sure).
I'm going to try to watch even though I already use the tree -- they're still adding new features so there may be new things I don't know.

@JanMurphy Thanks, Jan. That offer hadn't popped up for me. I'll be at work when it's on but I've registered in case it's viewable afterwards.

10 hours later…
6:21 PM
Testing, testing to see if it will show that I am chatting in Roots.
Juggling tabs because I am also on a Twitter chat at the same time.
Tap tap tap is this thing on?
So the question of the day is
how many messages does it take to make a "People Chatting" box show up on the main site?

Well, I don't see a box anywhere. Maybe this will help?

6:47 PM
The "People Chatting" box shows up on question pages but not on the front page.

@AndyW Which page? I'm not seeing it here: genealogy.stackexchange.com/q/10646/1006
But I did see the boxes here: meta.genealogy.stackexchange.com

@JanMurphy Hmm. That's odd. It was there a few minutes ago, but has gone now. Perhaps we're not active enough to maintain a presence?
This may have some relevance: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/127282/…

7:08 PM
Oh, I see it on the main site now while viewing a question.
But according to that Meta question, it's not consistent across the network.
