it does sort of look like the British army just expects you to get a visa and show up and they'll either take you or not: army.mod.uk/documents/general/…
like they don't facilitate a visa, but if you go through everything and enlist, they magically arrange it so you're legal
airlines in the US have gone down the same idiotic path
they try to offer LCC service, but can't get down to LCC prices because they have actual costs for stuff like pensions and their pilots are union and demand a decent salary for skilled work, etc... so they just suck more for the same price
@Willeke told that only a new bougth full price tickets at premium price indeed, would get me on. BA by any chance? I was told the same when trying to change (at the airport) from >LHR to >LGW. The LHR flight was the last of the day and always had standby PAX (who would switch to train if not accommodated). The earlier LGW flight had plenty of space shortly before closure and, where prices varied, was cheaper.
I have used BA and KLM for the last few years, AMS LHR, but now need to go to BRS (Bristol, not sure I have the code right) and did not enjoy EasyJet these days, not in AMS.
@Willeke Yes it is [brs] - a tag you added, and Usage guide. Thank you. (Although "BRS" might still be more closely associated with The Road Haulage Executive.)
