This dude committed a federal crime (ok, possession of controlled substances for personal use only is probably misdemeanour but still) and then fled the country and now wants to go back?

This is what happens when I consider a train travel.stackexchange.com/questions/74258/… . This is ridiculous, yes. But it's a train and a Hungarian train and I am slightly freaking out at that.

another suicide bombing in Germany. Will create another question about it

Q: Can I carry slush powder as a carry-on on a flight?

ATUL PATILI am going to attend an international conference in which I need to perform a magic trick using slush powder (aka sodium polyacrylate water gel). Can I carry it on the flight? I will be travelling from India to Nepal.

some answers perhaps @JoErNanO so I don't have to give a bounty to a score of -2?

@chx Why hilarious?

Q: How does the twitter bot work?

Jeffrey LinI heard that there was a twitter bot which automatically posted questions and asked for questions for specific questions on every site. How do they work? Is there an algorithm for doing this or is it purely random? I know that it doesn't tweet closed questions, but that's it.

A: When flying on a very tight schedule, are you obligated to run to make it to the next gate on a connection?

Johns-305No, you are not obligated to run and running is likely prohibited in the terminal.** But, there is never a reason to do so in the situation you described. Connection time is based on the incoming flight and airport characteristics. The airline will only book an itinerary that meets this requir...

23 upvotes to lillenthal's scathing comment and this is still getting upvotes
I flagged it as not an answer, but it didn't work ;)

@GayotFow Looks good enough for me.
No?
@Berwyn Hey hey you can't be the only one posting controversial answers on SE. Accept that you have competition. Embrace it. :P

Hehe
I'm going to vote to undelete my bidet answer and ask for it to be migrated to that question

11:51 AM
@JoErNanO ok, I will not delete it and I'll mark duplicates against it. Also, do you think we need one like "What evidence other than bank statements show strong ties to Pakistan?" or something like that???

@GayotFow We have a canonical about proof-of-funds which includes strong ties too, right? We could make a canonical for "How to show strong ties to home country when applying for a visa?" without it being specific to the UK.

@JoErNanO strong ties in the absence of bank statements, right?

@GayotFow No no. Mention bank statements too, and link to the existing canonical. No?

@JoErNanO ok, I will start to draft something

Q: Advice on additional documents for UK family visitor visa

MangalI applied for UK family visitor visa for my uncle and aunt who are Pakistani citizens and are over 70 years of age. My uncle is retired shopkeeper and has no pension. My aunt is/was a housewife. They live with their son and his wife and two children. Their son is a school teacher and looks after...

I ask because this fellow submitted totally the wrong evidence and plans to do it AGAIN
he thinks the ECO ignored his stuff
But actually it was the wrong stuff LOL

All these UK visa questions are extremely hard to read
I wish the people would just upload a scan of the refusal notice rather than try to write their own text

12:00 PM
@JonathanReez YES, emphatically yes
But it's clear that this OP sent totally the wrong stuff.
180 degrees out

"I'm retired, have no income, live with and are supported by my children, some of whom live abroad. How do I show strong ties to my country?"
I'm waiting for the canonical for that

@Berwyn LOL, consider this please.............
he sent the wrong stuff
so his plan is to get it certified and send it again
it will STILL be the wrong stuff, certified or not.

Right...

He spent a grand total of 4 minutes reading the linked canonical :)

@Berwyn which Jason Bourne film had the chase in Moscow?

You trying to steal my idea for your clients? :)
The Bourne Supremacy is a 2004 American-German action spy thriller film starring Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne character. Though it takes the name of the second Bourne novel, its plot is entirely different. The film was directed by Paul Greengrass from a screenplay by Tony Gilroy. Universal Pictures released the film to theaters in the United States on July 23, 2004. It is the second in the Bourne film series. It is preceded by The Bourne Identity (2002) and followed by The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), The Bourne Legacy (2012), and Jason Bourne (2016). The Bourne Supremacy continues the story of Jason...

@Berwyn Heavens no, my tours are history, opera, literature based. I wanted to read the imdb on it

That was the one where he started in Goa and his girlfriend was killed with that KGB guy
63 views for my question. How pitiful

imdb doesn't say where in Moscow like it does for Berlin
did you ever try the Dickens tour?

No

12:59 PM
It might give you some ideas. It's really good too

Will luck into it, cheers
Next trip is horizontal. Off to Hawaii

A: Can I carry slush powder as a carry-on on a flight?

JoErNanOSodium polyacrylate is not considered hazardous. It is not flammable, it is not explosive, it is not reactive, and is not poisonous. The worst it can do is irritate skin and mucosa. For these reasons you should be allowed to transport it on a flight in your hold or carry-on luggage. Note however ...

@Berwyn very horizontal if I may say so
@JoErNanO +1, v nice!

Ditto from me
Slight chance you might beat Elchin to the bounty

Thanks all.

Now that I've been on a car-transporter train
and some people on the train had bikes carried on their car
I kinda want to take a car, with bikes on a bike carrier, on a train, that goes on a ferry
just to stack as many forms of transport as possible

@Berwyn it's hard to believe that an answer claiming that running is banned in airports has 44 upvotes

4:01 PM
@ZachLipton Bet you can't even fiind 5 citations for it tnough!
"MCT is not a thing, it's an internal figure used to validate itineraries" - Good to know

I mean I'm sure some airports have a code of conduct that prohibits running somewhere, but running in airports is literally a cultural trope (see the old OJ Simpson ads for Hertz)

4:16 PM
No way they do
Running in airports is a 1000 time a day event!
Another answer just popped up.
@JonathanReez It's about time you chose an answer :D

I searched for a rule for a bit, but all I found was stuff about when and where aircraft run-ups are allowed on airport property, which isn't that relevant

I found someone who was stopped by the cops for running backwards

Q: Refused entry with old passport after Ryanair checked it

@JonathanReez For someone running in the airport? :)

I'm only 5 short of tracking down all the running in airports citations

Heh. 81 for the week :)
not quite sure how that happened
