1:38 AM
@Karlson we had the honor of being #2 in the worst airports list..
until next year when the new airport is done... hopefully..

2:32 AM
Can anyone beat $1237 AUD for Australia to Mexico one-way, avoiding USA, around november 22?

2:57 AM
I wonder if there is a way to do permanent announcements on the front page...

3:21 AM
@Karlson ?

Just write: PLEASE SEARCH THE SITE BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION.

actually no need...
once you start writing a question, SE automatically suggests similar questions that has answers..
but, no one reads...
@hippietrail you can save around $200 if you go via a US airport.
@Karlson where have you been? its been quite a while you did not show in chat..
hope u r doing well..

That's why we have 4 questions about an Indian citizen transit via Belgium not to mention other Schengen countries.
@MeNoTalk I've been around just not on chat. Work blocked it...

@Karlson and tons of questions about ipads, iphones and indian customs...

Hence my point

3:28 AM
even if you write an announcement.. people tend to be on hurry even if they got nothing to do...
they prefer to shoot a question, rather than searching for an answer...

True but making the request prominent usually give people paus

Anyway. Time for me to go to sleep..... Have to get up at 5am tomorrow.

it really works, even better than an announcement.. but no one cares..
have a good night @Karlson

@MeNoTalk I know that but who reads that when you type the question. Big BOLD LARGE LETTERS work much better. :)
G'night.

3:31 AM
Big BOLD LARGE LETTERS and a slap, just to make sure...

3:43 AM
@MeNoTalk there is no saving anything going via the US for somebody found overstaying a tourist visa 25 years ago!
@Karlson: Dupes aren't bad. They make more hooks for search engines to find the right answer by.
for really important questions i put in extra effort to avoid punctuation and carriage returns and make sure all my i's are lowercase like the first letter of all names of countries

5 hours later…
8:43 AM
@karlson I don't know, there is some information hidden in multiple dupes
now we know there is an issue with iPhones in india

2 hours later…
11:11 AM
@hippietrail weirdly, if I cut out US airports on kayak.com.au I get like 1500 bucks, but if I do it on their american site, I get US1157 via YVR (1 stop) from SYD to MEX using this search if that helps

11:52 AM
Any idea what I can do with a $25 united airlines coupon?
it is actually "An Electronic Travel Certificate"
there is something about redemption
does that mean I can just get it paid out?
I think I can only spend it on tickets

@MarkMayo: US1157 might be the same as what I found in AUD ... $1237. same via vancouver or toronto. seems like a lot of moola for one way though if that's as low as it goes
@Bernhard: i wouldn't be surprised if you can only spend it

@hippietrail probably, in the e-mail it reads
REDEMPTION INSTRUCTIONS
1) For redemption log on to United.com or call United Airlines Reservations 800-864-8331 (800-UNITED-1) or visit a United Ticket Office. Certificates may not be redeemed through a Travel Agency.
2) Advise the agent that you will be redeeming an Electronic Travel Certificate.
3) Be prepared to offer the agent the Promotion Code, P.I.N. Code and Total Value.

yeah
nobody wants to give money back even when they're at fault. hence vouchers and certificates etc

unlikely that I will be travelling through united within a year
especially since I always book flights via a travel agency
(I have a buddy there)
entertainment system was not functional on my 8 hour flight, so they handed out free beer and wine, and this
but I don't drink beer and wine ;)
