Yes for the long haul it takes more of a slow pace to not get sick of the site - it can be quite the time suck if you let it. I am very happy about the growth of the site as well.
The blog is sort of the icing on the cake, it would be a great place for analysis of both our community and other SE communities. (So I'm glad it wasn't retired - even with no activity for near two years!)
@AndyW Yup. However, it's hard to get people involved.
There were also some arguments like everything that is put on the blog could well have been discussed on CV itself. I don't know where because this may well fall under our criteria regarding primarily opinion-based post, but anyway...
I like the blog as an additional platform for people to express opinions. It can be a platform to the wider SE community as well. Just another piece of the brewing stats community here.
@AndyW Indeed, we could also discuss in public chat rooms, but this would limit the visibility of CV (which is, I believe, what happened with the now dead Journal Club).
