We moved to the top of the second page of results when you google 'gardening and landscaping'
just googling 'gardening' and we're second from the top on the 4rth page. Not too bad actually, there's a lot out there...
google 'landscaping q&a', and my profile here's on the first page, but no link to GL other than that in the first 5 pages. Searching for 'gardening q&a' brings up GL first on the 5th page of results...

lol, GL now has 404 tags..

@J.Musser Black Locust attracts one of my favorite pests: locust borers. They look awesome. However, they do put holes in the trees, but the trees don't seem to mind a lot (although I could be wrong).

@J.Musser Cool! I wrote down a bunch that have no wiki, and want to try to at least submit an excerpt, but I'm not sure how much I can just take from a googled definition. An example is Annuals, which I was surprised to find is undefined. The excerpt would be easy but unoriginal.
Curious-a low quality post came up in the queue but I don't have enough rep to read it. Can you give me a link so I can see why it's called that?
I promised you an answer to your lilac question and will do today. I started last night but got most of the way through it and left the page to check something. When I came back the draft it had saved was way earlier, so lots of it was gone. Since I have a number of quotes and sources I didn't have the patience to start all over again! Aaaargh! I thought it automatically saved a draft every so often and I was safe!!

@Sue hmm, see if I can find the right one...

@Bamboo Hi! It's nice to finally "meet" you! I think you're awesome-so dedicated to the quality of the site and kind to the users. Not to mention you're expertise, which is huge! I love your story about how you got here. I too have a son who's a high level corporate computer engineer, so I know what it's like to have tech-y kids!
@J.Musser Hi! It was just there about an hour ago.
I've never seen that message before.

@Sue Ok, so Niall reviewed it first, and deleted it before you got there.
here's a screenshot:

So-can I submit a tag wiki excerpt for annuals that's basically dictionary-driven? Perennials looks that way...

6:10 PM
@Sue sure, but try not to quote in full.
sort of like posting an answer.

Sue
Okay-I'll try!

:)

Is there a policy about offensive profile pix, or do we just not look?!

Q: Offensive profiles - where to draw the line?

Joachim RohdeI stumbled upon a profile where the profile picture is, from my point of view, islamophobic. After browsing the Terms of Service and searching meta for the search term "offensive" I'm still not quite sure if this should be flagged or not. On one hand people are saying you can post (nearly) whate...

Cool, thanks. This case is a teenager on physical fitness with an icky picture but no profile. New and may not be around much longer because the meta people are not that happy with him anyway, so I won't bother. User 13409. I answered my first question there yesterday and people like it!! I can't run anymore due to accident/illness, blah blah but D still does. Was fun to help somebody:)

@Sue Nice!

Sue
Tks!

This cat likes bananas (not)
@Sue yeah, that profile pic is offensive.
just went and looked it up

Sue
@J.Musser Awesome cat!!

@Sue We have a lot of tag wiki excerpts that simply define the term. They should really be a description of when to use the tag. Remember, most people here will already know what are, but may need guidance in how to use it.
A better example would be and , where people want to "identify" what's killing their plant, but we use for something else.

@NiallC. Thanks-that helps.
@J.Musser That's wild!
J. What's "trolling?" I assume it's doesn't mean playing with trolls.
Remember these guys?!

ha yeah
In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. This sense of the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, but have been used more widely. Media attention in recent years has equated trolling with online harassment...

@J.Musser Cool...
