The accepted answer really bothered me, as it was wrong. After encouraging the OP to self answer after correct ID was accomplished, and it didn't happen, the only thing left to do was...

A: What is this large plant with spikes of hot pink bracts and lavender, trumpet shaped flowers, that's growing in South Africa?

J. MusserAs you've already found, this is actually Megaskepasma Erythrochlamys, or Brazilian Red Cloak, not a shrimp plant, Justicia brandegeana. This plant is native to Venezuela. Here's, a comparison pic:

@ton.yeung If it has to do with the surrounding landscape, such as, "What birdseed can I use to attract [bird name] in [place name], that won't [problem such as sprout or kill grass]?', I think it will be on-topic.

@ton.yeung Good question, but the problem doesn't seem to relate to gardening. Unless the squirrels are affecting the landscape. You didn't mention that.
@ton.yeung See how this question mentions the need for a type of seed, and then goes on to describe the garden-related problem, in this case, eating berries.
Oh, didn't see the first paragraph, sorry.

Hey @J.Musser, have you considered adding a new question feed to the room?
It might help keep people chatting. Boost activity perhaps??

@RubberDuck I don't like those, but I could, I guess.
@RubberDuck Yeah, this room could definitely be more active.
And there is a dropdown that shows new feed items.

Just kinda tossing that out there. Idk. I like the gardening beta. I want to see it do well.

@RubberDuck Same here. :D

Oh! I guess I never popped in on my desktop when there was a new question.
Well shoot. Never mind. =P

I think the chat get so little traffic anyway, everyone on here will see the new questions on the site.
@RubberDuck I often leave the tab open all day while I'm at work, when I get back, I get the whole accumulation.
@RubberDuck If you have any extra time, one thing we will need the most is new questions, especially in winter. Just something to keep in mind. :P
