Q: What parts of Utpaladeva's Ishwara Pratyabhijna Vivriti are available in English?

Keshav SrinivasanGenerally, Vaishnavas follow the Pancharatra Agamas, Shaivites follow the Shaiva Agamas, and Shaktas follow the Shaiva Agamas. But long ago, there was a group of people in Kashmir who followed the Shakta Agamas but adopted Shiva as their Ishta Devata. That group evolved into what we now call Kash...

@RohitsinghRathore I was about to post a long answer on mantras being locked but eventually found that the Q was deleted. The Q was valid. My full answer is composed and i have saved it. So, if u ask that Q again i will post that answer.
@TheDestroyer Is this Q deleted by the owner himself? I composed a long answer but later found that the Q was no more.

@Rickross I think you can cite undelete vote..

@Tezz Where will i cast the vote? I can't see that Q anymore. May be Rohit himself deleted it.
@RakeshJoshi Did u post that Q on meta? about Swastika.

@Rickross Rohit flagged it to delete.

@TheDestroyer Ok, So he did not delete it himself? BTW can u see the Q ? I can't.

6:10 AM
@Rickross Yes. I can see. ohh.. you can't see question?
@Rickross Sorry! He asked me to delete it.
in Vedanta and Philosophy, 1 hour ago, by Rohit Singh Rathore
@TheDestroyer help me to delete the question if possible.

@TheDestroyer ok but it was a valid Q..

@Rickross I think it's because rohit got downvotes and many people asked him about sources. Let Rohit decide on it.

@TheDestroyer Ok. There are many blogs on net where they will say almost all mantras are locked in kali yuga. but that is just lack of knowledge nothing else... some curses and other doshas do afflict the effectiveness of the mantras but there are ways to remove them.

6:37 AM
hii

@RohitSinghRathore I just edited your deleted question... I think people will take back their close votes after it...

@Tezz @TheDestroyer

if you are looking for a distant shaktipaat.
@SwiftPushkar

@RakeshJoshi does it works?..

i know to many it works ... and there is no harm either in trying it
search and get familiar about mahayoga/siddhayoga first
see videos etc.

Oh ok I'll gain more information about it first...

hmm
through sankalpa they give it

11:43 AM
@RakeshJoshi - Nice info. I wasn't aware about distant shaktipata , BTW Adi Shankara also blessed his one disciple name totaka ,who was not doing very well in learning ,and he became very talented , and i found similar methode like shaktipata in puranas also , but these accounts are just transferring knowladge or blessing by the god to some one but closely associated with shaktipata πŸ‘πŸ‘

@RakeshJoshi Which one is best and genuine?

siddhayoga is good

@RakeshJoshi How to contact them? Do they have any MaTHs in South India?

individuals

@RakeshJoshi Thanks!
@RakeshJoshi is this their site?

yes
others are having separate site also

There are many fake people in Andhra cheating innocents.
@RakeshJoshi what is your experience on this?

i m not into this tradition but i know this lineage is genuine
they dont charge money too

@RakeshJoshi Why would a guru freely transmits his power to anyone?

12:05 PM
not his but divine's

@RakeshJoshi Divine means? Who is first Yogi in this Parampara?

shakti is not created by them .

Shiva's Shakti? Means Goddess metaphorically.

@Tezz @SwiftPushkar @Rickross

from 6 minutes onwards. rare video of shaktipaat initiation by swami muktananda

Primordial power, Adi Shakti which is latent in us.

12:48 PM
@RakeshJoshi Ok

2 hours later…
3:08 PM
@Rickross @RakeshJoshi Are there initiation through Yantra?

3:42 PM
give more info about it

@Rickross question is undeleted... you can answer now.. hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/18489/…

3:58 PM
@RakeshJoshi Sir it is initiation in Shiva-Devi tantra
Wherein Sadhak learns spiritual practices in Shamshan.

but which yantra
it differs in traditions ..
if you see higher people then they do less external rituals ...
just through touch and mantra
in many tradition there is an abhisheka performed

@RakeshJoshi Sir, I mean how can we learn hardcore Tantrik Sadhna which is carried out in Shamshan.
@Tezz How you have been? Did you like Pratyabijna Hridyam?

its not that samshan is superior or something
that can be learned through kapalik and aghoris

@RakeshJoshi I read gurus initiate using Yantras for such Sadhna.
Oh. I read Kapalika are no more.

@RohitSinghRathore yeah it's nice... what I got from it's essence is that one should realize Five-Fold activities in normal activities also....

4:09 PM
Aghora tradition?

both are alive
kapalik in nath tradition

@Tezz Yes, that sutra also indirectly says, everything is condensation of the ultimate Shiva. Like what happens at upper planes happens at lower plane. Etc. How much have you completed?
Oh. @RakeshJoshi Nath Sampradaye is different I think.

they have aghoris and kapaliks also

I had talked to Nath Yogi in the past.

@RohitSinghRathore I've not fully completed it yet.... have read more than half part...
@RohitSinghRathore what I understand from KS is that Everyone is Shiva in it's own awareness... and when he began to think that he is Shiva and begins to be aware of his 5 fold activities... then gradually his consciousness increases... abd he reaches to higher state awareness like Mantra-Maheswaras, SadaShiva etc.... Am I right?...

4:14 PM
Yes @Tezz absolutely right. They even say
Then he gets his omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience etc back
πŸ˜‚

@RohitSinghRathore Yeah...

But in summary everything is Shiva, some are unlimited Shiva, some are semi limited or completely limited Shiva.
Did you read the verse where "Why many philosophies" question is answered?

@RohitSinghRathore Yeah... also what I find interesting in Trika is it is all game of level of consciousness...
@RohitSinghRathore Ishwara Pratyabhijna even says 'Shiva takes form of sinners which are getting heavy punishment in hell.'... and Shiva does it all by reducing his awareness...
@RohitSinghRathore I think I have read it... can you give link of answer?...

Yes @Tezz They talks around consciousness only. Yes. Sinner is also Shiva, Saint is also Shiva - only difference is level of consciousness.
7-8th verse of Pratyabijna Hridyam

@RohitSinghRathore Yes. Sri Rudram verse also says the same.

4:21 PM
@RohitSinghRathore and that's why Shiva Sutras start with the verse 'Chaitanyam Atman'...

@Tezz BTW, Lord Shiva the ultimate scientist explains many state of consciousness. Not 3-4

@TheDestroyer Yeah I find Sri Rudram like an explanation of KS also...
@RohitSinghRathore actually stones bricks etc.. are also in their state of consciousness... that's why Yajurveda even says 'Listen Oh! Wise Stones.. '...

Yes @Tezz .
Insentient beings don't have individual consciousness but universal consciousness. I think. I need to research more on this.

@RohitSinghRathore I will post my pending question soon on this.
Do insentient beings have consciousness?

@RohitSinghRathore Yeah I'm also not sure on this matter... whether individual name-form should be counted separately... or they should be taken as Universal (also represented by Devatas)...

4:28 PM
@Tezz @TheDestroyer If insentient beings (stome, rock etc) won't have consciousness then how Shiva would know their presence?
Krishna also says - I'm indwelling in Char & achar both.

@RohitSinghRathore i can say in Advaitic perspective. Every being is Sat-Chit-Ananda in reality. We know Sat-Chit but Ananda is like hidden. For rock, it knows only Sat and Chit and Ananda is hidden.

@Tezz You mean?

But i'm not very much sure on this. So, i will post a question.

@RohitSinghRathore btw what do you think in which awareness state Abhinavgupta reached...?...

@TheDestroyer there are many things.

4:31 PM
@RohitSinghRathore Does KS say SHiva is Sat-Chit-Ananda?

@Tezz I think during ending days he became Sakshat Shiva. He assimilated into either with his disciples..
C'mon @TheDestroyer even Purans say so, why KS won't?
Δ€chārya Abhinavgupta had all Siddhis.

@RohitSinghRathore then why you said there are many things?

@RohitSinghRathore Did Kshemaraja also entered cave along with Abhinavgupta?..

Don't know. But I guess he didn't. @Tezz
Have you listened Bhairava Stotra of Δ€chārya Abhinavgupta?
@TheDestroyer because Shiva Sat chit Ananda are few of infinite qualities of Shiva.

@RohitSinghRathore Ohh ok.

4:35 PM
@RohitSinghRathore do you mean that stotra which contains 'Chinmaya Ekam Ananta Aanaadim...'

@Tezz @TheDestroyer In this video, āchārya Abhinavgupta says - " He has got Bhairava state".
Yes. @Tezz

@RohitSinghRathore Is this the same Bhairava Stotra which Abhinavgupta sung on his last day?...

Don't know. Where you read about this? @Tezz
7 mins ago, by Rohit Singh Rathore
@Tezz I think during ending days he became Sakshat Shiva. He assimilated into either with his disciples..
It is ether**
End*
along with*

@RohitSinghRathore I don't know where I read it... but I remember I read it somewhere. .. haha.....πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

4:53 PM
Haha, Actually while reading lyrics of this Bhairava Stotra, you read one of lines as "at the time of death, I sing & dance" erroneously instead of reading "at the time, I sing & dance".
@Tezz

@RohitSinghRathore haha no... that Bhairava stotra is not source of my above claim ... πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Haha, I claimed because I read it so
😜

@RohitSinghRathore haha.πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Btw @Rickross Good answer.
@Tezz what are you thinking about yours initiation?
Will accept your answer once you get enlightenment. :P @Rickross
@RakeshJoshi @Rickross is talking about Yantra in his answer.

5:24 PM
@RohitSinghRathore Thanks but there was nothing which i wrote in that answer that depends on my understanding. So, the correctness of the answer does not depend on my enlightenment. I have let Lord Shiva do all the talking there. So, if u are still not convinced then u'll never be. :)

Haha I was joking. :P @Rickross
Btw, you're lucky Lord Shiva once visited you.

5:38 PM
@TheDestroyer See the works of Horace Hyman Wilson, R.C. Hazra, etc. There's many pieces of evidence, like the style of language, the provenance of ideas, the fact that even old Shakta works like Himadri's Chaturvarga don't acknowledge the Devi Bhagavatam as being the Bhagavatam mentioned in the Mahapurana list, etc. — Keshav Srinivasan ♦ 15 hours ago
@Rickross what is Himadri's Chaturvarga ?
Are HH Wilson and RC Hazra eminent scholars?
i think HH wilson is the one who translated Vishnu Purana.

6:16 PM
@TheDestroyer @Tezz @RohitSinghRathore

consicousness is the soruce of all creation then definitely every created item should have it

@RakeshJoshi Yes. But some beings don't know it.
Like dead body.

stones have it and microbes also have it
its not about knowing but expressing

@RakeshJoshi Do atoms have consciousness?

yes
that is why they arrange themselves in specific pattern in alignment with each other

Do you support Darwin's theory of evolution?

6:18 PM
u and rock are not different

stone and u both are made of atoms and sub atomic particles
and if u furtther go deep subatmoic are strands of energy
then newton says eneergy cannot be created or destroyed it can be only transformed from one form to another
that is why agama believe shakti is the source of all creation

here matter is only Physical.
E=mc^2

which matter
einstien theory is not absolute
hear the beginning portion

@RakeshJoshi Did you read Laws of Miracles in Autobiography of a yogi.

which chapter is it ? i have read the book

Chapter 31 i think. Laws of miracle.

6:24 PM
i might have read dont recall the name niw

He says those who activated Sukshma Sareera has infinite mass and thus breaks realms of all physical world. Siddha breaks barrier c.

@Tezz @TheDestroyer

as per agama shiva himself comes under limitations by self imposed pashas or shackes ...

this is a play and then he achieves shivahood again

its like i m experiening myself but i want to experience myself in infinite individualized pattern

hence i divide myself into infinite numbers and experienced myself from every of these individual specs
science can acknolwdge air but cant say about the life force of the breath ..
