Anyone else here find that using the tooling API to pull metadata down from Salesforce will occasionally just skip a file or two (or five)?

I swear that every time I clean my project in my IDE (Atom, using MavensMate) or through MavensMate directly, it ends up missing some random files (and different ones every time). This last time, it was a trigger (it had the .meta-xml file, just not the actual .trigger file). I also think I remember this happening when I was still using Eclipse + Force.comIDE

@DerekF I hadn't noticed that, no.

Hi. The sign on your door said: "idle chatter is encouraged". Here are my 5 cents:
never SIGHUP, never prerender
run and never loop-back

@АндрейБеньковский Did you adapt the "never SIGHUP, never prerender" from Galaxy Quest (movie), or is it from a song and I'm just an uncultured brute?
@AdrianLarson Guess I might just be special then.

I haven't experienced any weirdness with metadata either. I recently switched to MavensMate + VSCode & love it

@DerekF When I query my memory the only result is "Бороться и искать, найти и не сдаваться" from The Two Captains (the book) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Two_Captains, but the match confidence is low so I guess I don't remember where I got the phrase from.

Interesting stack overflow survey for 2017 developers: stackoverflow.com/insights/survey/2017

I think Salesforce went up a few rungs on the 'most dreaded' list. If nothing else, that means better job security for us I guess.

You might want to check out advancedapex.com/2015/04/08/stackoverflow-survey-sf - there might be some truth to that blog post even though it was written 2 years ago
I'm not sure who gets sent this survey - did anybody here take it?

@RobertWatson I took it. I think they just have a link to a meta.stackoverflow post that shows up on all sites in the stackexchange network on the right-side column of the site layout when they're running the survey each year.

Ah. Wish I'd seen it. I need to start spending more time on here.

@RobertWatson I took it, it was in the featured ad space for a while.
