@snailplane I feel like we unofficially have a few already, like the は/が thread, your が/の post, etc.
Is there some process the other SE's use to make posts officially canonical somehow?

@snailplane I'm not.
Though I have a proxy that redirects http to https for SE, but it only affects things after the request, and never for meta.
I can hover over that link and it says https and not http. The proxy should not affect that.
...I'm probably muddying the waters here by mentioning that I have a proxy. So forget about it. The proxy works great and is not responsible.
Oh, it seems SE has fixed the "meta breaks if SSL is used" finally.
Apart from the fact that it still throws that "SSL certificate is not valid" error like it used to.

ELLでDamkerngさんと話してて思い出したんですが、英語の bike のように自転車と原付をまとめるなら二輪車でしょうけど、こうやって呼ぶことはほとんどないですね。

@oals Then what is responsible? It says HTTP here.

And when I follow the link, it takes me to the HTTP page, not HTTPS.

It's the same as it's always been.

I mean, you're going to get HTTPS links if you use HTTPS for chat, which would presumably be due to your proxy.

Anonymous
But that's not SE's fault.

(What is SE's fault is taking forever to support HTTPS! :-)

2:34 PM
I use HTTPS for chat, but before the links were HTTP links.
Also, my proxy does not modify the content at all
It can't anyway, since the content is served over HTTPS.
Could the bot be serving both a HTTP and a HTTPS link, depending on how you connect to the chat?
Yes. That must be it.
I loaded this old transcript page from nine months ago, chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/511/2016/1/9
There the link is HTTPS too.
I'm pretty sure it used to be a HTTP link.

2:56 PM
If I disable my proxy, and visit the transcript link over HTTP, the link is HTTP.
If I visit it over HTTPS, the link is HTTPS.
Ah, yes. I see why.
The bot's links are to //meta.japanese.stackexchange.com, i.e. they are missing the protocol.
That means the protocol is whatever I'm currently using.
So I guess they upgraded the bot recently.
