「これはまさに自虐ネタであるそうだ。」 -> is the use of そうだ correct here? It seems to be used strictly for personal conjecture in this example but isn't this incorrect usage in this case? From japanese.stackexchange.com/questions/38854/…
@Ciaran For personal conjecture, you'd use ありそうだ, not あるそうだ

@chocolate Yeah, that's what I'm confused about, because in that passage it seems like the meaning is conjectural, i.e. something like "it seems like an embarrassing situation for him" rather than "I've heard ...".
