I need some help understanding a sentence
俺が羨んでいた、いつも自分だけが評価されないことでひがんでさえいた相手は、こんなに空っぽな奴だったのだ。
I guess that's two clauses both modifying 相手, but the second one is very foggy for me
Particularly I'd like to know, why the passive in 評価されない
And who's doing the appreciating?
And, uh, who or what is being valued there =/
