I see, sorry. I edited it so maybe this time it's a doable question, I hope! — Draken 11 mins ago

Would we like to reopen their question now that it's been edited?

does the が at the end of 田舎なんですが function the same as putting でも at the beginning?

@snailboat 了解っす。
@Daniel I think there's a slight difference. "でも田舎なんです" would be saying "but it's a rural place; you sure know how inaka is like", while "田舎なんですが" is milder: "it's a rural place though...despite it being rural, I like it"

thanks, that was quite clarifying :)

よかった :)

If anyone's interested, ja.so now has an accompanying Transifex project where any registered user can suggest translations of the site interface strings. Currently you'll need to post a comment to this meta.ja.so post to join the team on Transifex: http://meta.ja.stackoverflow.com/q/1680/30
Also, as a reviewer, I'll be dumping review comments to this chat room: http://chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/20999/
Feel free to just monitor the project/room and chime in whenever you like.

Hello!

@snailboat Does 旧字体 listed in the 常用漢字表 imply that it's a 人名用漢字? (I'm betting you know this off-hand...)

Anonymous
@Earthliŋ No, I think some 旧字体 are not 人名用漢字, like for example 壓 (= 圧)

I won the bet =)

This might be a very silly question, but how do I attach furigana superscripts to Japanese text on this site? This would be so handy.

A: How should I format my questions on Japanese Language SE?

jkerianFurigana support You can add furigana to your questions and answers! If you want to get 感じる【かんじる】, you can type in any of the following: 感じる{かんじる} 感{かん}じる 感じる【かんじる】 感【かん】じる Sometimes the furigana will end up over the wrong kanji. If that happens, you can use [] to tell it ...

It works on Japanese.SE (and, I think, Anime.SE?) but not in chat

Thanks!

Just reached the VN part where the character is chanting a magic spell. It's quite confusing but somehow less so than the official English translation, hmm. Guess these things don't translate well.
