Actually, I don't even know :-) I asked a Stack Exchange employee to look, but vote information is private and I can't look at it myself

So I don't know what the difference is exactly, but they did look to see if it needed to be reversed

There was a project started by Professor Yasuhito Tanaka, who got a bunch of students to find English and Japanese sentences and come up with translations for them. It was called the Tanaka Corpus, and the professor didn't think they were very good, but the corpus was released to the public for free

The Tanaka Corpus had lots of errors, so they tried to edit it and fix it up

And later some people built a website called Tatoeba Project based on the Tanaka Corpus, and they're trying to add translations for all sorts of languages, not just Japanese and English

But even though it's been edited a lot, there are probably still sentences in the corpus that have errors or sound unnatural

Since it's freely available, though, people incorporate it into websites based on EDICT (like WWWJDIC and jisho.org) because EDICT doesn't have any examples of its own
